Wooden Boat Inn

What a hidden little treasure tucked away in Clayton. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Highly recommend!

Situated in a calm residential area but everything is within walking distance. Staff is helpful. I was late for check-in time and they arranged my key so that I could easily find.

What's not to like. A lovely set of rooms (sort of a mix between motel and cottage), in an excellent location, with a diligent staff and gracious, helpful hosts. Owner/manager provided detailed information about activities, sights, restaurants, et al. The only limitation is size: a relatively small spot. Aside from that: top-notch.

This is a great place to stay not only for the comfort but also for the convenience to the town of Clayton. We enjoyed the recommendations for the local restaurants. We only spent two days but would’ve enjoyed trying all of them in town. We also did the river tour with Clayton Island tour and spent time on Heart Island and toured the Boldt Castle. The 1000 Islands is such a beautiful part of NY State.

What a lovely little gem of a motel! Berny and Valeree were gracious hosts - and Berny was especially helpful and patient with my multiple rearranging of dates. The rooms were charming and spotless. The location is an easy and pleasant walk to everything; the harbor, the Antique Boat Museum, restaurants, coffee, ice-cream, bars. We hope to come back again and again.

Place was ok but price was way high for the size of the room and the amenities

The Wooden Boat Inn has the quaintness of a small, personal lodge near the river. Just what we were looking for. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I loved the nautical theme. Bernnie, the owner, met us in the driveway and quickly got us checked into our room. He suggested a few restaurants to try along with favorite shops and places to visit while in Clayton. They proved to be great recommendations. The Wooden Boat is located about a block from the river and riverside attractions. We walked to everything. Clayton is a charming town, and so is the Wooden Boat Inn! We hope to return and would definitely stay at the Wooden Boat.

Rooms were small and old - but very clean.

Enjoyed my stay, my host was very informative as to where to go and what to see during my brief stay.

Would have liked our own refrigerator in the room.
