House of Character in Valletta

Många trappor, ingen ac, det mesta väldigt slitet, ingen tv.

Beautiful house, central location.

Rooms were a little hot as no air conditioning.

The location is perfect. Everything is walking distance. House was a 4 storeyed traditional Maltese house so you get a feeling of how people used to live, it was very authentic. Sitting at the tiny balcony was so nice with the view. We loved it. Beds were very confortable, pillows were very nice and properly soft. Everything was clean. Kitchen had all utensils and the coffee machine was a good addition. There were books and brochures on Malta, which was a bonus. The wash machine was also nice.

It was too hot and humid especially on the upper floor. The fans were useful though. A small cloth for drying dishes/hands or kitchen napkins could be useful. The basement can be eerie for some people but from what we heard it is common in all Maltese houses.

Prime location.

No AC. Mel did warn me about that to be fair. But she did say that old stone house would keep heat out. But upstairs bedroom heat was unbearable. Temp for the days that I stayed was 70-88 F to keep you in perspective. Downstairs bedroom is cool enough but it has musty smell even though dehumidifier continued to run. Stairs and rooms are a little confusing. I would say it is a good location for young people to have fun in the city and can bear the heat and the smell.

The house is absolutely charming. It’s an old property and quite rustic, but in a very pleasing way. The location is central but quiet. We moved our stay.

This is a great location. It's quick and easy to get to the Valletta attractions, especially the bus station which is about 20 mins walk, where it's possible to get buses all over the island. Its a similar distance to the Gozo rapid ferry. This is a traditional Valletta house with original balconies and stone floors. The weather wasn't so warm for us but it would have been great to sit on the balcony overlooking the square below. It's in a quieter part of town but is only a short walk to get to the lower level (below the wall) near the sea. We enjoyed the upstairs lounge the most as it was light with balcony views and a traditional Valletta wooden window. Coeliacs take note - its only 5mins walk to a gluten free bakery which opens early so you can get freshly baked croissants and coffee or gluten free sandwiches for your trips. The rooms are spacious and there is a second small kitchen on the top floor near the lounge and second bedroom. There is also a second shower room/toilet on this floor.

The wifi isn't great with the best reception in the upstairs bedroom. It wasn't a problem for us but there is no TV or oven. We did need to run the humidifier quite a bit but it was early March with outside temperatures of only 16 degrees so this may improve in the summer.

Great location - silent and close to the heart of Valletta. Professional and friendly host meeting all our wishes including very early check-in and very late check-out. Appartment itself for turists looking for something special - we felt like moved back to 16th centaury.

Beautiful house, excellent location in Valletta Old Town. I was surprised to find that despite the central location it was quiet at night and we all slept really well. Having two bathrooms and two sets of keys was very convenient as I was travelling with teenagers. Easy check in, good communication from Melissa.

Nothing. It would be improved by a sofa bed with some extra linen to give flexible sleeping options where travelling with teenagers, as I was. It was a little chilly - as expected in January- you just need to put on the heaters about 20 minutes before bed.
