Vergeet-My-Niet

Charming house in a lovely location. Close to the centre of town, but feels like you are in the country. The house is very spacious, but, thanks to the lovely weather, we spent a lot of time outdoors. The property is set in a smallholding growing olives and grapes. Marina and Hans look after the farm and were amazing hosts to us. One example. We decided to go to the weekly farmers market to buy some of the delicious local figs. When we got there, there was none left. Hans caught up with us at the entrance and told us that as they were there earlier and saw the figs being sold up they had bought us a box! Lovely sitting on the stoop and watching the wildlife, including a resident tortoise.

Exceptional. This is the most exquisite property, the cottage is fabulous and beautifully appointed. The hosts, Hans and Marina are wonderful and couldn’t do more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. If 10 stars were possible, that’s what we’d give them. We booked for 2 nights and stayed for 6 and even that was too short. Thank you for everything. x

The cleanliness and privacy is amazing.

Without a doubt this is one of the best places my husband and l have ever stayed. Our hosts, Marina and Hans are both wonderful people who went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay memorable. The cottage is fitted out beautifully, the kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is simply luxurious and the location is quiet and very private while still being walking distance to the center of town. I don't often leave a comment but this place deserves special mention. Thank you Marina and Hans for making our stay simply wonderful.

Location was fantastic - no breakfast, but excellent breakfast within walking distance. Real gem - both the facility and the hosts. If you are looking for privacy, beauty and beauty, all at a decent price, look no further. This is a rare find.

Marina and Hans were really lovely, friendly and helpful. We've stayed in some great places in South Africa but this is our favourite. The cottage has been recently renovated and has been done beautifully and to a really high standard. The bed, linen, furniture, bathoom was all perfect. Great shower! The cottage was very peaceful and private and the stoep looked over beautifully maintained gardens. It was a lovely place to just "be". Marina and Hans couldn't have been more welcoming. From local dining recommendations, being encouraged to use the pool, explore the grounds, provision of a braai they were great. They even had our car washed before we left :-) The location is ideal - one road back, about 100m, from the main street so it's quiet but easy to get to the restaurants etc. It's also nice and safe, even at night. Rachel went running each morning too.

We absolutely loved our stay at Vergeet My Niet! The property is well located close to the town center, however offers the tranquility and scenery of a country getaway. The cottage was well appointed, beautifully decorated and clean. Hosts Hans & Marina are warm & friendly, and really made us feel welcome. So glad we discovered this gem in Prince Albert. We look forward to our next stay at Vergeet My Niet 🙌

Beautiful restored old farmhouse, with fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and bedroom and modern bathroom with toiletries. The farmhouse was set in a beautiful garden with the availability of the hosts swimming pool for guest. Perfect place to stay. Thank you.
