Since day one, we complained about the terrible quality of the towels. They were extremely worn out—almost torn—and we even informed the apartment owner via whats app chat. She sent her assistant the next day with three “new” towels, but they were in equally poor condition. The towel they claim was damaged was already at the end of its life due to wear and tear. It unraveled while I was drying off. Regarding the lamp, there was a day when it wouldn’t turn on. We assume the bulb had burned out—we know exactly which one it was. Frankly, this apartment has many issues. We strongly urge Booking to inspect it properly, as it is in overall poor condition. Additionally, the place smells awful—we also reported this to the owner. We tried to be polite and avoid leaving a harsh review, but to be honest, this apartment does not meet acceptable standards. We deeply regret staying there. The check-in process was also a complete mess. The instructions provided were vague and unhelpful. We were in contact with the owner and all she told us was to present us at the lobby. Howerver, when we arrived, the guy at the lobby had no idea who we were or what we were talking about. They had received no information or instructions from the owner and wouldn’t even let us go up to the apartment. We had to wait for hours outside, which was unacceptable. This will most likely be the last time we use Booking to rent an apartment. The experience was extremely disappointing. What’s most upsetting is that instead of addressing the real issues—such as replacing the towels with new ones, providing clear check-in instructions, and properly cleaning the apartment—the owner seems more focused on trying to charge more and make extra money. Under no circumstances will we pay a single peso more.
