Annexe Lodge cottage in Drymen

Private ideal for what we needed as own entrance Owner was lovely very helpful. The annex sleeps 5 clean spacious country cosy feel. Well equipped a home from home.

The hot tub was lovely a nice space for living area upstarts & rooms were not bad size

No parking directly at property had to trail cases wasn’t far but it is when you have a bad knee & 2 kids next to a road. Rob didn’t meet us or come see us at any point to make sure everything was ok . No milk or anything simple supplied for £201 I thought was rather expensive as I’ve been to cheaper & got more . The place was very dated needs refurbishment it’s very poor standard to which I expected wouldn’t not recommend . Bed sheets didn’t smell fresh either . Disappointing stay

Easy to find, the hosts were very friendly nice and polite. Hottub was amazing the cottage was nice and cosy.

Lovely property, everything that we needed was there, hosts were brilliant! Couldn’t have helped us any more. We will 100% be back again soon. Hot tub was ready for our arrival, heating was on so it was nice and warm for us arriving. Lovely cafe just a short walk up the road

If you don’t clean the property properly you deserve a low rating. I typically only provide positive reviews for places I have rated highly. However in this instance and for the sake of future visitors I hope the host takes note and does a thorough clean before the next guests arrive. Here’s my list of problems identified and mostly photographed if the host cares to see the guest experience. 1. When I lifted the toilet seat the porcelain had dried yellow liquid (I suspect urine) clearly visible and disgusting! 2. Half a broken biscuit, crumbs and other things I swept up in the living area, this was actually the first problem I spotted and didn’t photograph thinking it was a minor oversight. 3. There are two tortilla chips clearly visible on the bed frame, the mattress has a gap to the wooden frame. 4. There is a large dusty cobweb over the wardrobe next to the spare pillow. I realise a cobweb is created in hours but it doesn’t accumulate dust like that unless it’s been there a while. 5. There is dust and the cover of a feminine hygiene product behind the door of the main bedroom. 6. Although I did photograph them you needed to be there to experience the four (yes 4) air fresheners hung in the entrance corridor. Presumably there to mask a worse odour possibly from the toilet/shower room. 7. As a family who don’t wear shoes at home we noticed the floors weren’t clean, it was our choice to walk around in our socks but not one I’d recommend for other visitors. Most of the reviews for this property are very good so perhaps this was only our unfortunate experience and the cleaner hadn’t turned up this month. If the property was thoroughly cleaned it would deserve a higher rating, the hot tub was great! The bedding and towels provided were clean. It would be helpful if a hand towel was also provided for the toilet sink and please put more liquid soap in the dispenser on the wall, there was a tiny amount and if you pumped it enough a little bit eventually came out.

The cleanliness of the lodge left a lot to be desired. The microwave was disgusting and caked in grease. It had to be thoroughly cleaned before we would dream of using it. A lot of dust underneath the bed also. The room with the bunk bed is far too small to do anything other than sleep in. I would suggest this is more suited to having a single bunk bed than the double currently in place. Having stayed in an airbnb, 2 weeks prior to our stay at the drymen annex lodge I was very disappointed having paid double for such an extreme drop in standards. I really couldn't recommend this property to anyone
