Elia Sea Suites

We spent four wonderful days at the Elia Sea Suites in Chania. The hotel's excellent location is particularly noteworthy. Chania's old town is about a ten-minute walk away, and several beaches are also easily accessible on foot. A real highlight is the breathtaking sunset, which can be enjoyed from both the rooms and the pool. We had a room with a Jacuzzi and a magnificent sea view – truly beautiful. A small tip for future guests: If possible, avoid room 16. The cleaning closet is right next to it, so it can be quite noisy early in the morning due to doors, cleaning work, and the cleaning crew. Unfortunately, there were also a few things that significantly dampened our stay. The biggest drawback was the opening hours of the pool and pool bar. The pool is only open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Anyone wanting to swim before breakfast or enjoy a cocktail by the pool after a day at the beach is out of luck. The evening hours would be the perfect time to enjoy the atmosphere of this hotel. The fact that the pool and pool bar close as early as 7:00 p.m. is completely incomprehensible to us and a definite drawback. The fact that pool towels were sometimes unavailable because they had run out also left a negative impression. Furthermore, the furniture in our room creaked so loudly that my partner woke up every night. The balcony lighting was equally disruptive: it was so bright that, even with the curtains closed, it illuminated the room and made restful sleep difficult. Another point of criticism concerns the breakfast room. Breakfast was served exclusively in an enclosed space. Especially in Greece, we would have greatly appreciated being able to start the day on an outdoor terrace. Overall, while the hotel offers an excellent location and beautiful rooms, we felt it didn't offer good value for money. Given the rather high room rates, we expected significantly more – particularly regarding the facilities and service around the pool.

De drie bouwprojecten die er omheen plaatsvinden en waar ik beide dagen wakker van werd, erg onplezierig De kamers met een jacuzzi binnen begrijp ik echt niet. Met de chloor-dampen slaap je feitelijk in een zwembad. Wij hadden uiteindelijk een kamer met jacuzzi buiten omdat het electra probleem dat bij aankomst bleek uiteindelijk aan het eind van de avond was opgelost.

Location, scenery

Centrally located. Very helpful and attentive staff. Beautiful views on property and from our room.

Bathroom area was very small would recommend more storage and lighting, additonal mirrors in the bathroom area.

The views from our room were spectacular, the staff very friendly and welcoming. The location was great, close to old town and beaches. Breakfast was lovely.

Our patio had the sun most of the day and needed some shade, an umbrella would be helpful. Also not much room around the pool and need more umbrellas for comfort.
