"A great stopover for our family with easy access to Wadi Shab and the Bimmah Sinkhole!"

Atlas Wadi Shab was a very pleasant place to stay, with a beautiful area overlooking the Arabian Sea. Tiwi is just a seaside village with nothing particularly spectacular about it, but the evening we arrived, we did enjoy a stroll along the "promenade" that follows the shore. We arrived close to 9:00pm; the village was quiet; there were fisherman coming in and out of the small harbor, and there were a few children gathered to play soccer. Our family of 5 stayed in a room that was actually very large. There were three different areas, with a "living area" that had a small couch, and then the two other areas each had a bed: one queen, one king. There was one bathroom that was a typical Middle Eastern design. The rooms were very sparsely furnished, but it was all we needed in order to be comfortable; and in fact when we arrived and they saw we had five people (we figured one of our kids could just sleep on the couch), the gentleman who checked us in brought us a rollaway bed without us even asking. It was one of many ways that we found the Omani people to be so very kind and welcoming. When traveling in Oman, we found that all of the places where we stayed used What's App for communicating with guests. this place was no different. We kept in contact with them regarding when we would arrive, and when we pulled up to the guesthouse (in the dark), there was an employee waiting there for us. Once he got us checked in and made sure we were settled with everything we needed, he left for the evening. He was back the next morning when we were ready to check out. Like I said, use What's App to communicate and you'll be good to go. And unlike some of the other places we stayed, Atlas Wadi Shab took credit cards. If you are looking to stay in the area of Tiwi, do NOT miss the Wadi Shab hike!!! It is spectacular and the start point is less than a mile from the guesthouse.

There is nothing we didn't like; westerners visiting the Middle East just need to realize that amenities are different here. You're not staying in a 5 star resort, but that is the beauty of visiting an amazing place like Oman!
