location is fantastic, right in the centre of town on the main highstreet. Rooms are really nice too.

Very dusty. There was a fan on the bed side table that was caked in dust and I had to put it inside the wardrobe. The shower room needs a bit of attention too. The plastic shell around the bath was falling off, the light didn't work so we had to use our phone torches and the shelves where the toiletries sit needed a good clean.

Really friendly host who let us keep the room for a late check out after running the half marathon. Definitely recommend

Cheap but ultimately not suitable to stay at. The bathroom is not ‘private’ it is shared with 3 other rooms, there was no light in the bathroom - what was supposed to be a romantic getaway began with me holding a torch light for my partner to shower by. Advertised as a bed & breakfast - the breakfast in question was ‘there’s short dated bacon in the fridge help yourself.’ There were cobwebs and dust around the room, dangling wires from the telly sat on top of the radiator, no sides to unpack a case on so our stuff was just strewn across the floor. The host was aware the bathroom light was broken prior to our stay and did not inform us until we arrived and questioned if so we couldn’t cancel. After staying one night we had to leave and find other accommodation. The host hastled us whilst on our holiday on the 12th of may to call round booking.com to try and cancel the booking stating that she couldn’t, which since contacting booking.com we have found out is not true. We are now in dispute to get our money back and the host is ignoring both ourselves and booking.com. Booking.com insist they can do nothing to help currently despite endorsing this hotel on their site, I’ve had to file a charge dispute with my bank.

I was allowed a late check-out so I could come back and have a shower after my race

The owner was abroad so I received a message a couple of days prior informing me of my room number and the code for the key safe. Upon arriving then, there was a non-existent welcome with all the lights off. The location may be nice and central but the noise from the nightlife was ridiculous. I came for the Chester half marathon and wanted an early night so I could be fresh for the race. However, the noise from the revellers, live music below and zero soundproofing meant I had a terrible night's sleep. Jean's Place is advertised as a B&B on Booking.com, promising a superb breakfast. The reality? Nothing. I later read about the communal kitchen but there was no communication in this regard from the owner. To top it off, the shared bathroom light didn't work which the owner knew about but didn't bother to mention beforehand. When I messaged her about it, her response was 'I know, just had to put a temporary light in there til I can get an electrician. It's under cupboard in bathroom'. Well thanks for letting me know. And the temporary light didn't even work anyway. Not great value for money for £90. Safe to say I won't be staying again!

Location was great, property was clean and room was nicely made up.

Bathroom light was temperamental in the evening and I could not get it to work at all in the morning (showered by torch light). Property is self check-in/check-out set-up. Therefore, I wrote to the hostess (Shaz) after I left so that she could fix for the next guest, but my feedback was dismissed.

NO TV, BUT WAS A LOW QUALITY DIGITAL PROJECTOR, BUT NO CLEAR WALL TO PROJECT ON WITHOUT COMPLETLY SWITCHING ROUNG THE LIVING SPACE! SHOWER ROOM NEEDS UPDATING HARD TO FIND! IF YOU DONT KNOW CHESTER AND THE ROWS

Lovely and clean nice comfy beds, nice and cosy place.

The property was in a fantastic location and the room was very clean.

It was not specified anywhere that it was a shared bathroom.

Clean, very comfortable bed, had room at rear and there was no noise at night. Bed linen was clean and soft. There was Bosch coffee machine ( I didn’t use it) and room had fridge and fans.

There was no TV, not an issue for me but some may not like this fact. Room isn't en-suite but like the lack of TV, not an issue for me.
