PENELOPE garden house old town

I truly recommend staying here for a trip to Rhodes! The property is gorgeous, there is lots of space, beautiful bathrooms and a spacious garden/patio. The location is perfect, in the centre of the Old Town but also close to the shops and restaurants of the newer neighbourhood, and about 7min from the main bus station. Even though it's right in the centre of town, it's also still really quiet at night as it's located on a side street. The host is extremely accomodating, responded immediately any time of day, and we were very thankful to receive the gift of local sweets, fruit and drinks! He also picked me up from the airport for free, even though my flight landed past 11 at night, We also liked that the property had local maps and a first aid kit, this was really helpful. We genuinly had the best time in Rhodes and it was definitely also thanks to having such a great place to stay!

If I had to pick one thing to improve on, it's if the host could also provide some basic shower gel and shampoos in the bathrooms. But overall I still think it was 10/10 stay!

We were met by the hosts father who was very welcoming. It was lovely to have a big fruit basket, a bottle of wine and wee local consumable gifts included, as well as tea and coffee available. The space was beautifully decorated and appointed. We appreciated the historical nature of the property. The kitchen was well equipped, if a little cramped (but that goes with the nature of the properties) which meant there was nowhere to sit inside, downstairs. We did use the wee table upstairs, and that was a really nice space too. The outdoor area had plenty of space and choices of seating. The lockbox made it easy if we were to come back to the accommodation separately, rather than needing two keys. The location in the old town couldn't be better, but it was still easy walking to other areas.

Could we suggest an awning of some sort outside? There was a little rain, which meant we couldn't sit out there at that time, and the sun was also too warm to sit at the table at times. Some shade would make that area perfect!

Fantastic experience!!! The location was perfect, the room was very good and clean. The the hosts were super gentle and very helpful! Perfect spot for the old city and just a few minutes walk from the city centre.

Well renovated garden House in the heart of the Historic center . The Host made us feel so welcome. We love everything the space, the garden ,the old street, the people.

Lovely quirky space in the old town; two bedrooms; two bathrooms; a small inside seating area (upstairs) and a lovely outside area (which is why we chose it). Despite being in the old town, there’s very little street noise or noise from bars etc. You are right beside another property (two windows open directly onto their terrace), but it’s thoughtfully designed and curtains ensure your privacy (and theirs). We loved the outside space and sat out every evening. Also really appreciated the welcome package — some water, wine, fruit, honey and Greek sweets. Kostas, who showed us to the house, was very helpful, checking several times we had everything we needed.

Not an issue for us but you can hear people in the neighbouring building/terrace. Kitchen a little cramped but, again, it wasn’t a problem for us as the most we did was make drinks/toasted sandwiches. Also, be aware it’s not a serviced property — we emptied the bins etc ourselves when needed. (Not complaining — it’s very easy to do!)

The house is in a great location with a cute courtyard garden. Excellent communication with the host. Comfy bed, spacious bathroom, wine, fruit, water and a little gift on arrival.

Bedside lamps would be useful.

Location perfect and very quaint property. Very quiet at night.

Needs some blackout blinds in the upstairs room. Window to the next door property needs a sound barrier and shutter.

Costas met us at the gate so it was an easy check-in. He gifted us with wine, fruit, honey and little souvenirs. He even offered to make arrangements if we ever needed to rent a car. He was very available to answer all our questions and gave great recommendations for restaurants and activities. He even made all the arrangements for te taxi ride back to the airport. The location was incredible, inside the walls and close to everything yet still in a quiet area. Plenty of room for 4 adults. Nice private patio area. Would definitely go back to this location. Great apartment. Really good location. Beautiful apartment full of light, it was clean and the beds were comfortable and really nice features with a beautiful patio. The host was so welcoming and the shower was great. I loved it, thank you for our stay.
