DARI-ZANJIR family guest house

We stayed in a triple room, vary spacious, good mattress, bathroom with very nice tiles. Everything is very clean. The guesthouse is brand new. There is a chandelier on the upper floor that gives a sense of luxury. It's not far from Registan. What amazed us most is the friendliness of the owner and the whole family. They run after you to offer you tea or coffee when you enter the guesthouse or water and candies when you go out. I had stomach problems and they made plain rice and mashed potatoes for me, asking always how I felt.

As it's mentioned in other reviews there is no A/C but we didn't need it. Besides the fan seemed to do the job although it was loud. There is no TV, not that we needed it. There should be some gadget to catch the flies on the breakfast table.

The hotel is family run and the owner and his son are really lovely lovely people.

Beware that the Dari-Zanjir doesn’t offer AC in its rooms. I am not sure if it is the case with every room but our room didn’t have any AC device in it. When we made it present and asked for an AC solution (booking lists AC as one of the facilities offered by the hotel) we were swiftly moved to another hotel owned by the same family some 5 mins walk away. The second hotel was definitely a bit more run down than the Dari-Zanjir but it did the job. the AC was not working very well in this second facility either, but we were lucky that was a fan. If you’re wondering why so much obsession with the AC, Samarkand temperature in June reaches 40C during the day, and still very note during the night. Also, the curtains in the shower had mould on them

Rooms were not booked, and they started to offer other options. We had to wait until they cleaned other double room.

Nothing, but it would be better if there is trash bin in the room (have trash bin only in the bathroom).

Was warmly welcomed by the owner Rakhmon and his son Dalir. They always offered tea and made a good breakfast. They provided good customer service. It's not your typical hotel but my room was spacious with a private bathroom. Plenty of lighting and electrical outlets. Very close to the city centre where there's a wide selection of restaurants and cafes.

My room got really hot and I had to leave the window open. There was no fridge to keep my drinks cold.
