Sella Park Country House Hotel

Most of staff really friendly, helped us with our bags to room and even left a doggy treat bag in the room for our dog.

Some bloke come to the room because our dog barked 3 times at 5pm, saying they had a noise compliant and had to move the guests next door to a different room. When the other guests were repeatedly slamming the door. Didn’t bother asking what had happened, just came to our room and told us.

Nice period property. Pleasant grounds. Breakfasts are good. Nice bar. Friendly staff. Room was very clean.

Building is a bit tired in places. Could do with a freshen up. The bar is very pleasant though.

Felt very welcome. The room was nice and the beds super comfy. The food in the restaurant was lovely and always hot and freshly prepared. The staff were lovely friendly and we even chatted with the lady chef on the Friday morning. Everyone made you feel welcome.

This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in very dog friendly which is important to us as we have a small dog. The food was excellent and the standard of accommodation high.

Although this didn't bother us the location in close proximity to a large nuclear facility might not be everybody's cup of tea. The location is rural and very peaceful and the hotel grounds well kept.

Staff are always nice. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was fine.

The main meal menu is not the best with very few choices I would go for. I have had the steak three times and two out of three were ok. The other was edible. Fish and chips once and would never eat again. Absolutely dire. the batter shatters when you stick a fork in and the fish content is very poor indeed. ( this has to be a frozen offering ). Apart from the breakfast, the food in terms of range in lacking and quality not great for the price. its a shame really as the hotel itself is recommendable. Just change the menu, offer choice and improve the overall quality ... even if this means increasing the price. I'd rather pay a bit extra for something thats edible.

Nice breakfast, and bar facilities staff very friendly

The picture used in advertising the hotel shows Munchester Castle, giving the impression that the hotel was actually situated within the grounds of Munchester Castle, where in fact its 5-7 miles away.. Just outside the grounds you will find Sea Scale Nuclear Plant and if you meet the traffic at the wrong time as we did it can make a long journey even longer.. Apart from this the facilities and staff were very good.

Dietary requirements well catered for.

Brilliant hotel, fantastic staff who were so helpful. Very comfortable rooms and evening meal and breakfast were superb.
