Δεύτερη φορά που μένουμε στο συγκεκριμένο σπίτι και σίγουρα όχι η τελευταία. Είναι το ιδανικό μέρος για όποιον αναζητά ησυχαστήριο ενώ σε πολύ μικρή απόσταση έχει εξαιρετικά μέρη για φαγητό.

Πολύ όμορφος χώρος, μέσα στο δάσος με υπέροχη θέα, ο ιδιοκτήτης φιλόξενος, κατατοπιστικός σε ότι χρειαστείτε, το σημείο πολύ καλό για εξορμήσεις, το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα,

I had a wonderful stay in a - lovely, isolated, quiet with privacy feeling - place.

Location and price.

Host was nice but a bit atypical and strange behaviour. But nothing to be afraid of.

Lovely views over Sparta. The host, George, was excellent and supplied us with some items we wanted for cooking. He asked for a list of items needed when we left so he could buy them.

Springs in the sofa had gone so extremely uncomfortable to sit on. Material at back of sofa was rotten with lots of holes in. A lovely swinging double seat outside but the cushions were all worn with the stuffing coming out. All things that can easily be rectified.

The owner is really lovely , we were welcome so tenderly Kindness , we were not well and he helped us. Thank you so much I recommend 100%

Beautiful cottage. Old style country but with all modern comforts. View of castle and Sparta. Quiet and peaceful. Enchanting. Exceptionally gracious and helpful host.

It’s taken me a little time to write this review as I wanted the time to reflect on what was the most enjoyable, memorable, hospitable stay but also because this place is an absolute hidden gem in heart of the Peloponnese above Sparta. I arrived later than planned at midnight after misjudging the mountain road drive-time from Nafplio, but George the owner waited up and greeted me with a much needed glass of wine and friendly welcoming conversation. The property lane is quite easy to miss the first time you arrive as it’s right on the corner bend of the winding road a few km above Mystras. The small lane is a little bumpy past a waterfall and small rocky outcrop which at first might seem daunting but this is precisely what makes Forest Rock so peaceful, secluded and hidden once you arrive. Situated amongst the forest on the mountain side, the view across the Spartan valley over the city below is absolutely stunning and a marvel to behold. I never grew tired of it night or day. Time slows down here, it’s a place of healing and a dwelling for the heart. I especially enjoyed the wild dogs howling to one another across the valley as evening draws in. The accommodation itself has been lovingly curated over time to make it feel like a genuine home. It is humble, comfortable and warm with all the kitchen facilities one needs to cook if desired. Guide books and maps are likewise on the bookshelf, the wardrobe has plenty of blankets & towels, and the bathroom is recently fitted with a new shower. I’ll never forget the view on the first morning, simply beyond words, the week I stayed in April the trees were in full bloom with fuchsia pink flowers alive with the background hum of the bee’s. Speaking of bee’s the local restaurants have their own hives and I highly recommend asking and trying their honey. Sparta itself is only a 10 min drive, 7km away for shops etc m, alternatively George has an e-bike you can use which is a much better way to travel the mountain.
