The Old Cowshed - B and B

Beautiful, homely and comfortable. Rich is so friendly and we had a peaceful night after a day at the beach. Loads of space, thoughtfully decorated throughout, and breakfast was simply lovely.

Wir waren zu zweit unterwegs.Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einem alten hergerichteten Kuhstall. Großzüge Wohnfläche, mit moderner Einrichtung im maritimen Landhausstil. Die Lage im Pembrokeshire nur 15 Minuten von Freshwater West Strand und 5 Minuten zum Örtchen Pembroke war sehr gut. Unsere Gastgeber waren super und sehr hilfsbereit bezüglich Tourenplanung. Der Hund der Hosts (Arthur) war gut erzogen und ließ sich gerne streicheln. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt- wie daheim.

Die Katze wollte sich nicht streicheln lassen.

An old barn house turned to a beautiful, pleasant and cozy home, particularly the dining room where we used our breakfast. We can use the bedroom, a small living room and bathroom privately. The room and bathroom are very clean. 15 minutes drive to scenic spots like Green Bridge of Wales and Elegug Stacks. The hosts, Rich and Jane are very nice and pleasant. Rich gave excellent suggestions for a stunning route to drive to St Davids, also good suggestions for food.

Although Rich and Jane are so nice, I have to be honest to share my authentic experience of staying there for 2 nights. The exact location is not easy to find even with Rich's description by writing. There is not any signage of Old Cowshed B&B which made it so difficult to locate. The bedroom itself is not big, it was kind of stuffy and has a strange smell when we first arrived. I suspect it was caused by the dampness of the room. After we open the room door for the whole evening, the smell was faded out, but we need to close the door to sleep. We could not open wide the window as flying insects would come in. Therefore, having a window screen will be much better. I did believe the beddings are clean, but the dampness made them feel sticky and uncomfortable. I was also quite disappointed when I noticed the bath tub was not for used, shower only! When choosing a b&b, I particularly looked for one having a bath tub and shower since I like to have hot bath after a long day walk. For the continental breakfast, choices of food can be increased, such as a few cold cuts, small portion of fruits, etc. I spent so much time to write this because I hope the Old Cowshed can really reach a 10 standard.

We had the most wonderful time at The Old Cowshed! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the peaceful beauty of the surroundings. The renovated cowshed is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Jane and Richard are the most gracious hosts—warm, thoughtful, and happy to share a story or offer a recommendation. Their care for the property shines through in every detail, from the cozy interiors to the blooming flowers in their lovely garden. In the morning we were invited to their dining room, where a truly delicious breakfast awaited us and we got to try their fantastic homemade grape jam. Adding to the charm are two absolutely delightful companions: a sweet kitty, and Arthur the chihuahua, who greeted us with an enthusiastic tail wag, invited us to play with him, and stole our hearts completely. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already dreaming of our next visit. We hope to return sometime 💚
