I booked a room but turned up to be a tent, then I changed to a room on the spot but decided to give up the stay as the room is small, no window and very basic with common bath etc... I switch to another place to stay.

Thank you, Aurum Hotel, for the upgrade! I wanted to experience sleeping in a historic building, and this room is simply beautiful and fragrant. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfy, ensuring I had a restful night before my meeting. The stunning staircase adds charm, though it may not be ideal for those with knee issues. I absolutely love the gorgeous shower room, especially the raw cement finish! No need for slippers here; the organic feel and cleanliness are so refreshing for my feet. The antique wood thingy that have shower gel and shampoo dispensers are a delightful touch, and the "kuali" sink is a brilliant mix of tradition! The interior and furniture are gorgeous. I like it so much even the old design floor at the front hall. Overall, I can't wait to return! Please keep this place clean for future guests. It's perfectly located in Alor Setar, close to cafes and tourist sites.

Just a suggestion: I hope Aurum can offer bananas, fruits, and juices for a quick breakfast option for guests like me who don’t eat bread, coffee, or tea. Thank you for providing the refreshments! 😊

The room door need to change to new door easy to open and lock. Like code. So no need the key. Also the safe deposit box they didn't write deposit box or box that have a key they should put note or sign above to box. So ppl know what is that box for. Those big cupboard can remove it's look eerie. Too old .
