Cartmel Barn: Beckside Stables

A beautiful barn ,location could not be better. One mile walk into Cartmel.Barn decorated to high standard.

The setting and the accom itself was stunning! Decor beautiful. The owner also included lots of lovely products and food also which made it feel extra special. The perfect place for a romantic get away.

No sink inside the accommodation which I thought there was in the little kitchen bit but I guess there is limited space to fit it and the toilets and shared kitchen are close enough anyway to make up for it.

Steep loft ladder to access the bedroom. Potentially dangerous. Luckily, we didn’t slip or fall when we needed to use the bathroom facilities. No running water in the stables accommodation and the toilet and shower room were around the corner in a separate building. Very clean comfortable when we needed to use the toilet at night. Had to go out in our walking boots with our umbrella in the pouring rain. Poor lighting which meant we couldn’t read in the stables in the evening. No storage space, so we kept everything in our bags.

Everything about this place is exceptional. The location ( quiet, great views, 15 minutes walk from Cartmel ), the property and the hosts. The stables have been wonderfully converted and there are lots of lovely little touches to make it special, with Ali providing all you need for breakfast, teas and coffees - including delicious home made granola. Waking up on a morning and sitting out with a cuppa and the only thing to disturb you is the buzzing of the bees in the lavender - just perfect. We will be back !
