Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and location with beautiful view over the nature reserve. Our contact at BeGuest was very helpful and prompt at dealing with the issues we had. We also liked that the cleaners came on set days so we could make sure we were out of the way.

Difficulty accessing the property because the keys hadn't been left in the pickup location by the cleaners. The shower cubicle was leaking in several places, I reported it to the agent and a maintenance technician came promptly to repair the leaks. A new shower tray will be needed.

We stayed here for 2 months (Oct/Nov) whilst my husband had work in Europe and overall, it was a good, spacious, clean and reasonably well equipped apartment with excellent Wi-Fi. It is an easy walk into the lovely town of Olhao and close to 2 supermarkets. It has a large west facing terrace looking out over the salt pans, we had some incredible sunsets. The building is secure, has parking and we only heard neighbors a couple of times at night. There are a range of restaurants, cafes, bars in the complex and a small pool on the roof.

Check in instructions are more complicated than they need to be. There are maintenance issues - shutters not working (it took a week and at least 3 reminders for a guy to come, he stood on a chair and gave it a bash!), blocked/leaking drains, walls need repainting, stained furnishings, not enough teacups/mugs, no large serving bowls/platters etc. What really lets this place down is the beds, bed linen and towels. The main bedroom has 2 single beds pushed together with an Ikea mattress topper. The single mattresses are worn, stained, and very uncomfortable - we had to buy another topper it was so bad. Pillows are the €4 ones from Ikea - useless. Bed linens are mainly polyester and washed to a shade of grey by the commercial laundry (I brought and laundered my own sheets). Towels are the same, many we were given were threadbare, full of holes and falling to bits. I pity anyone having to use the sofa beds they were very hard and low to sit on. The apartment would be 100% improved by moving the 2 singles into the living room annex and replacing them with a proper King bed in the main bedroom. Get rid of at least one of the sofa beds - no one wants to sleep on them!
