Living with the family and the relaxed feel. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt we were well looked-after.

Nothing. Although the sea was too far to walk to, Wendy kindly drove us there.

"Wendy is a very pleasant welcoming lady. Her home felt very homely and relaxed."

6.0

I had a very welcoming greeting from Wendy who made a lovely cup of tea on my arrival. Wendy and I ate breakfast together and had a great chat.

It was an error on my part that I hadn’t taken on board that the rooms do not have en-suite facilities, but the bathroom was close and I was the only person using it. The room was very small, the bed spotless and very comfortable, the duvet was a high tog but I removed the cover and placed that over me which was sufficient as the weather very hot. There wasn’t a table by the bed but Wendy soon found me one. No lock on the door and no mirror which isn’t too much of a problem for me but some quests might like one. I would have liked a kettle to make a cuppa in the bedroom

"A fabulous stay with a fabulous host!"

10.0

Wendy and her family were so welcoming! We were greeted in such a friendly manner and invited to use the whole house making ourselves feel at home. Wendy couldn’t do enough for us even offering to take us to our family party for which her house was a fab location. The house was clean and comfortable

Everything was great! No complaints at all!

"With the heat & the long drive, The Wendyhouse has left me refreshed, soothed and wanting to return"

10.0

I failed to read the details of the offer properly before arriving and was expecting a "Continental Breakfast", but no; I was invited to take a cooked breakfast (which was very welcome) with two other guests, who were together, with our host in attendance. The timing on both days was negotiated the night before and each breakfast was superb. I had the feeling that Wendy could, and would, deal with any special requests, diets or allergy avoidances. The coffee was excellent and we were asked to choose between ground coffee or instant, tea or whatever. Toast just kept coming. If you have simple needs but appreciate a little bit of pampering, this is for you. An absolute delight. The weather was extremely hot, so the communal bathroom with a wet-shower and bath was much in use. Such facilities were tiptop and not over-fussy. There were plenty of magazines, books, maps and tourist information tastefully laid out, so if forced to stay in, you could easily keep yourself amused. A very large and modern retail park is closeby (11 mins walk each way) and a Harvester Pub around the corner (although I didn't visit). There is plenty of dog-walking territory on the nearby golf course, although, again, I didn't use it, as I had places to go. The house is close to the A338 Dual Carriageway, which is very busy, but somehow I didn't hear much traffic. Windows are double glazed. That proximity makes the house quite easy to find. The parking in the property was ample and very accessible. If you've never been to Bournemouth before, and I hadn't, The Wendyhouse is an excellent place to stay.

I cannot think of anything I didn't like.
