The Windy Roost

The cabin was very well kitted out and very clean. The beds were comfy. The host was friendly and helpful. Everything was in good nearly new condition.

There was no milk when we arrived so we couldn't have a cup of tea till we got out to the shops. I expect it was just that the host had forgotten to supply it. The bunk bed was very close to the ceiling so my daughter on the top bunk kept hitting her head when she got up. There was no access to laundry facilities.

Amazing and sincere welcome. We're hiking and arrived a bit dishevelled; the owners agreed to take us to the nearby shop which was so kind. The accommodation is incredibly comfortable and well-equipped, warm and cosy. There is a lovely area to sit outside with firepit, but having hiked for 8 hours we stayed inside this lovely place and cooked a nice meal. As I say, very well-equipped; there was nothing we didn't need. Ensuite is great and the beds comfortable. Totally recommend.

The remoteness. The owners were amazing.

Not enough storage for suitcases. Would have preferred to have hair dryer and French press.
