Tra Vicoli e Palazzi Apartment

We had a great time in Tropea and the apartment made it even more enjoyable. All the rooms are beautiful (we and our kids loved it). It can be felt from every detail in each of the rooms how much love has been put into place to make the guests feel very comfortable. There was everything that we as a family would need. Our hosts, Lucia and her son Domenico are incredibly kind and gave us a warm welcome with a little snack that was so refreshing after our long journey. They were always there ready to help, giving advice and hints. After our outings, we could relax in the air-conditioned rooms, which were pleasant to rest in before embarking on another adventure in Tropea. The mornings were beautiful too, as we opened the balconies, enjoyed coffee, and took in the stunning sea views.

Otroligt mysig lägenhet! Rekommenderar starkt! Vi kände oss direkt som hemma. Nära till restauranger och strand. Värdinnan och hennes familj tog emot oss med värme. Mycket hjälpsamma med allt! Gav oss tips om stränder, restauranger mm. Väldigt måna om att vi skulle ha det bra! Synd bara att vi inte hade planerat att stanna längre, men vi kommer definitivt tillbaka till Tropea och absolut till denna lägenheten!!

Everything! This was our third trip to Tropea and by far the best. We stayed 10 days and found Tra Vicoli to be the perfect place for our visit - and in past visits we were not able to say that. The host family is warm, outgoing, helpful, thoughtful - in short, the sort of hosts you hope to encounter - who are your local experts and friends who were always available - but never imposing. Prior to our arrival and at our request the host reserved a parking spot in a private parking lot. The apartment is in a great location in the old historic part of the city and has every amenity - but thankfully is in a quiet area. The AC worked perfectly - there are two separate units: one for the large bedroom and one for the living room (or second bedroom by using the comfortable sofa bed). The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. There are three balconies/terraces. We used the balcony off the kitchen often - for a glass of wine while watching the sea and sky or with a morning cup of coffee from the wonderful coffee machine - and there's something really special about being able to enjoy a fresh breeze while watching the city come alive with the brilliant blue sea in the background There are a couple of restaurants in the square near the apartment - but all of Tropea is within easy walking distance. The king sized bed is firm and comfortable. The kitchen has a full complement of appliances - and they all work well - and a very handy washing machine in the kitchen which came in very handy. We can't wait to get back next year.

Not a problem for us, but its always good to know in advance: there are lots of stairs in Tropea: the stairs down to the beach or marina are quite long. The apartment is located on the third floor of a lovely old stone building that has been well maintained and updated. Be prepared for the stairs - just something I like to know in advance.

The apartment consists of a very large living room with two couches and a comfy chair, and an equally large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. There is a separate well equipped kitchen and a small bathroom with a good shower. There are three small balconies, one each off the living room, bedroom and kitchen, with views to the sea. The location is tough to beat, right in the heart of the old town (we didn’t have a car, so parking was not an issue). However, the best aspect of the apartment was the amazing hospitality extended by Lucia and her son. Literally minutes after I made the booking request Lucia reached out personally, and was in touch regularly in the months leading up to our arrival. Her son met us at the train station to drive us to the apartment, where Lucia greeted us with gifts of food and wine. She communicated with us daily to make sure everything was okay, offered to drive us to attractions, and brought us fruits and liqueurs in the evening. If there was anything we needed, she was just across the hall. In short, she was a wonderful friend in Tropea.

More a heads up than a dislike, but the apartment is up 50+ stairs in a building with heritage protection (ie: no elevator allowed) so if mobility is a concern this apartment is not appropriate.

Staying in Lucia’s apartment was an amazing experience and like visiting family. Communication before hand was incredible and very helpful. Lucia sorted out local parking for us and on arrival picked us up in town and gave a quick tour. We were welcomed with local goodies and necessities (coffee, milk, wine and cookies). Apartment was spacious and perfect for a couple and two kids. We loved everything and looking forward to coming back.

That we didn’t stay longer.

Location was fantastic , right near the cathedral (no bells at night) and sideways view of the sea from the balconies.Sofas and bed were comfortable.Although a central location it was very quiet at night. A few English books to curl up with aswell.Kitchen was well equipped with a full size fridge,kettle ,microwave and oven,aswell as induction Cooktop.Small minimarket was 5 mins walk away.Wifi was good, video what's app calls fine.Plenty of treats left for us aswell!Lucia and Domenique looked after us totally, particularly on arrival with help with luggage and car parking.

The stairs were a little dark in places but good bannisters helped, so tricky for multifocal glasses. The bathroom was in the roof eaves so on the small size probably couldn't be changed with an old buildings plumbing. The steps of the stairs were evenly spaced with landing breaks so wasn't a problem for us going up and down them but might be for others.

We loved that the apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated, bright and with a sea view. Its location in the historic city center, with great restaurants just around the corner, was fantastic. It was also conveniently close to several beautiful beaches like Spiaggia del Cannone, Spiaggia della Rotonda, and Spiaggia di Tropea/Isola Bella. The hospitality and friendliness of the host family made the stay even more enjoyable.

The location is both a pro and a con. During our stay in the high season (July), the loud music almost every day, including live performances, played from 10 PM until 2 AM, which was disruptive. The apartment is not suitable for individuals with mobility issues, as it is on the top floor of a historic building without a lift.

Everything, it was a really good place to spend quality time. Clean, total prepared apartment.
