"Great stay ❤️ 5 ⭐️"

10.0

Lots of space , kitchen is huge with everything u need , lots of fridges , ev charger … bring ur cable with you as I forgot 😆

We made a New Year’s Eve party , we had fireworks booked , owner send us a message 2 days before the party that we are not allowed to use fireworks…. Was perfectly fine if this was in the booking policy , we could organise accordingly… (fireworks are not refundable ) I’ll recommend u to contact the property regarding fireworks before booking if u planing to use fireworks 🎆 Heating is made with oil and is quite ok , u need to toon up the thermostats to all floors in order to work properly…. We had good heating when we noticed the problem …. If ur planing to let ur kids sleep downstairs use a extra heater as the kids living room is could during the night

"We had a most wonderful happy, memorable time and we would recommend The Old Vicarage"

10.0

The spaciousness and comfort for a family gathering, both indoors and in the grounds. Lovely to have plenty of refrigerators and two dish washers. The use of a gas barbecue was a bonus The children’s playroom was outstanding with beautiful toys and large tv screen. The tv in the lounge showing paintings by famous artists was really interesting. The hosts were very kind and being at the end of a telephone means that any query can easily be resolved. It was an expensive weekend for us, but worth every penny as it was an occasion that will always be fondly remembered by the whole family.

Such a lovely place ...quite idyllic .15 of us had such a lovely couple of days ..such joy and laughter. Claire was very helpful and we felt she was available if we had any problems ( which we didnt) The facilities were all excellent. We all felt so blessed and lucky to be able to stay in such a wonderful place.

Absolutely nothing.

"Exquisite weekend in our very own Downton Abbey!"

10.0

MAGNIFICENT is the only appropriate adjective to describe The Old Rectory! Having seen the photos, we had high expectations for our annual family gathering, but nothing could do this stunning home (or its hosts) sufficient justice. Even before our stay, Claire was incredibly generous and responsive in accommodating our requests, but our actual weekend away was simply first class, in every respect. The house itself is stunning and very thoughtfully configured and the grounds are breathtaking. The thing that really struck us was how incredibly private the place was; it had been so sympathetically landscaped, that we felt as though we were the only people for miles. The kitchen was equipped with everything that we could possible need or want and the welcome basket of local treats for everyone (including the dogs!) was a lovely surprise...typical of the generosity and attention to detail of the owners. It's a short walk down to St Peter's, a quintessential village church, which is always open for visitors to pop in and enjoy the peace. We also had an excellent supper at the nearby Fisherman's Arms at Docklow Pools; no mean feat to serve delicious food to a party of 22, but they did it with a smile...it explains their score of 5/5 on TripAdvisor! In summary, we've booked various large houses for family celebrations in recent years, all of which have been wonderful, but The Old Rectory out-classes them all. It represents exceptional value for money for the experience and quality. We cannot thank the hosts enough for the love they clearly put into the upkeep of their incredible home and we are grateful to them for making it available to rent. We wholeheartedly recommend The Old Rectory and we definitely hope to return next year.
