The Barn at Providence Cottage

Location was ideal for our visit and we were able to take our dog. Check in via key box was convenient and communication from the owners was timely and informative.

When we arrived the house was freezing cold, we had hoped the owners would have put the heating on for our arrival especially as we were asked for our expected arrival time.

Lovely little place, ideal as we only used it as a place to sleep.

Absolutely freezing on arrival, we attended the area due to my son with rugby, after being on the side of a pitch all day we expected it to be a bit warmer in the place, had to go and get more blankets from the car. the temperature on the dial on arrival was only 11 degrees. It was bitter cold and had a damp smell. After leaving the heating on all night it finally warmed up and the damp smell did go.

Not very dog friendly. When looking for a dog friendly place, I'm looking for a home from home where dogs have free reign to snuggle on the sofa and sleep on the bed which is all they've known. Also would have liked a secure garden so the dogs could be free in the garden (minus open well in garden). So difficult to clean the dogs after muddy walks too! The dog bed provided was awful too, scratchy uncomfortable material. Dog owners like myself treat our dogs like family so looking for places that truly understand having dogs etc.

Wow what a find this place was, small but cosy and comfy. Some reviews said it was a cold place, I can't see how, we had to turn down the heating because it was to warm. I even cooked a Christmas Dinner without the aid of a microwave. It was very clean, there is spare bedding if it does get chilly. Wifi is free and works perfectly, we had no problems with it. Owners are very friendly as are the villagers. Pity it didn't snow. Certainly be back hopefully for my birthday or our anniversary. Highly recommend it.

Very cold, heating and electric blanket didn't work well, thankfully we brought extra blankets, other than that couldn't fault the place!
