"Thank you Sonia for our incredible month in Vieste! This house checked all our boxes, even some we didn’t know we had!"

10.0

This house checked all our boxes, even some we didn’t know we had! A spacious house spread over two large floors and a roof top patio overlooking the sea. If you love to stay in historic centers filled with culture and beauty, you cannot beat this location. The house is well maintained for its age, you can tell the owner cares about her property. It was fresh, clean (absolutely no smells of any kind, except delicious food from surrounding homes and restaurants while out on the balcony!). The house is in a prime location, walking distance to Pizzomunno beach (you can also see Pizzomunno a few steps from the door). Even closer was our personal favourite beach at about 150mt from the house which has the absolute best view of the old town’s peninsula (the classic Vieste photo you in advertisements, etc). The space is great for families. It can comfortably sleep 6 adults. We are a family of 5 and found it perfect. It has 3 queen beds (note: one is a fully private bedroom with door, the other two are sofa beds in converted living spaces so they are not fully private. The first is at the entry when you walk in the front door and the second is upstairs and somewhat private, but you need to pass through it to access the outdoor areas). There are two full bathrooms and two full kitchens. We loved the outdoor kitchen on the covered terrace and pretty much used it exclusively. Very convenient! Because it’s covered and has a ceiling fan, it’s extremely fresh, even on hot days. There’s also a washing machine out there so you can do laundry and hang it right there. The outdoor terraces are one of the best features of the home. We used and appreciated them so much. As mentioned, one fully shaded with the kitchen, laundry, relaxed seating area, dining table. And the other in full sun overlooking the sea - especially beautiful at night! There is also a lovely little balcony off the upstairs bedroom facing Piazza Petrone.

Keep in mind the house is in the old historical town, perfectly located between many key places, but this means parking can be subject to limited traffic restrictions and tickets as the city tries to maintain its historic beauty and charm by keeping traffic out of its center. The parking lot we used was about 300 meters away, there may be others at further distance and less likely to be restricted. It’s important to remember that being in an historic center also means the very things that make it charming are the things that sometimes challenge you in your every day tasks. Groceries need to be carried on foot like locals, in fact most movement is done on foot as there are a lot of stairs. Just something to keep in mind if you have any problems with walking, stairs, etc. We loved staying in the old town and had no problem whatsoever. It has everything you need in a less than one km radius.
