"A beautiful view"

8.0

The couple of days I stayed here laying in a hammock and watching the boats on the sea are some of the best I've spent in the Philippines. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the town is very quiet. And again, I can't overstate how great the view is from the balcony of the room.

Amenities are pretty basic. No hot water, only a small fan for cooling and no electrical outlets outside of a USB port. This is because the guest house runs on solar power. The town is nice and quiet, but that also means that there's not much options for eating out. And there is a monkey chained up in the yard. I asked the owner about this and she explained it's a monkey that the local farmers cought because it was stealing their crops. They've tried to release it into the wild, but it keeps coming back to the town and causing trouble like killing birds and fighting with the dogs, so it has to be chained up. It was really sad to see the monkey in this situation, but I also don't know what I'd do if I was having to deal with this situation.

"The best place to stay in Bedeladan"

7.0

Extremely basic accommodation (in line with what you can expect to find in a small shanty village), but with beautiful panorama. So in short, the best place to stay here in Bedeladan. Anyway you will have just to sleep there as the rest of the day you will be spending on a boat touring the island far from caos of El Nido group tours and it will a great compensation! The host speaks good English and is very supportive and kind. There is also wifi, which is good as elsewhere in the area there is no coverage. I advise you to ask for the guy called Mcjo to organize a nice private boat tour of the islands. A small boat for one or two passengers. Ask him to prepare a fish grill on one island at lunch time when you book the boat the day before. And avoid the islands crowded of boats coming from El Nido. You will leave by boat in the morning and be back at 3 pm. The islands you will see are value the trip to Philippines. Truly paradises without people. Remember to bring with you on the boat some food for the cats and dogs you may find in the islands!!! My advice is to take 2 tours in 2 days in order to see everything. So plan 3 nights. For eating my advice is to buy in the Canteen shop. The lady there prepares also fresh food every day and she can cook also on demand including fish and chicken if you ask in advance. And prices are very honest. We always had breakfast and dinner there. Only once we took food in another place (Kuya) with the storytelling that the man is a fisherman and cooks nice but the truth is that it was a very bad experience and everything is organized to cheat tourists. So don't trust that! Last but not least, if you like animals and cats remember that in the Homestay there is a small lovely and affectionate cat. He was always with us when we were in the terrace. Be gentle with him and bring him some food. At night it is very noisy because of grouses. There are many and they are loud. So bring with you earplugs if you are sensible to noises.
