"Pleasant short stay"

7.0

The Cottage is located in a pretty village, very close to the local pub. Great access to walks. It was cosy and comfortable. Host was very responsive. They provided some information in advance which was very helpful and set expectations correctly.

Kitchen was a bit dark - needs a stronger bulb.

Top quality linens and very comfortable beds, great location being closeto a pub 😃, and also for a few short walks. Definately will return .

Only downside was the frying pan...it needs updating, apart from that, it was everything we were expecting 😁

Good location for walks in the Yorkshire Dales; Wensleydale is rather touristic, but the other, nearby dales are quiet and offer beautiful walks.

Lack of a shower, the cottage is a throwback to a previous era.

"It’s a beautiful quaint cottage which is desperate for a deep clean. Sadly we won’t be returning."

4.0

The location was fantastic being part of the Pennine Way. The view from the cottage was beautiful (after we’d cleaned the windows). There was a beautiful old pub close by doing great food and an array of real ales. The cottage was located near Hardraw Falls which was stunning.

There was no communication with handing over of the key. I was sent a key code by Booking.com but there was no key safe and it was only on trying the door and it being unlocked that we got in, the key was left on the table. There was no information book. The cleanliness was disappointing, it smelled fusty, of wet dog and was generally dirty. None of the furniture had been vacuumed underneath or on the sofas, there was a vase of dead flowers left in the hearth. The oven didn’t work and needed a deep clean. The frying pans were peeling their non stick. There was no shower, only a rubber mixer tap one. However, on a positive note the beds were comfy and clean and there was plenty of hot water.

We loved everything - so quirky and unique, local residents are very friendly and welcoming.

"Perfect, totally in keeping with the surroundings!"

7.0

The simplicity of the cottage, its character, the location.. endless hot water.

Only a small thing, but the duvet was totally smothering and over warm!!

"Perfect short break base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales with our 2 dogs."

Location, a traditional Dales cottage, the coal fire, the comfortable beds.

Nothing.
