The place was cozy and equipped with all the essentials, and the bed was comfortable. The host was friendly. I had a bit of trouble finding the exact entrance at first, as there was no visible house number, but thankfully, the kind people at the pizza place located in the same building helped me get in. The location is good, within walking distance (about 14 minutes) to downtown. I found that buses aren’t very frequent, and Google Maps didn’t always provide the most accurate directions, so walking or renting a scooter are better options. Scooters are widely available and often more convenient than crowded buses.

It was a bit hard to find the place on arrival, some instructions on how to get there would be helpful.

Great location

The property was spacious and cool from the hot weather. The location was perfect for access to all the local areas and amenities.

The noise from workmen at 7am. And children making noise until 2/3 am.

The location is amazing. Of course it is very loud in the centre of Palermo. If you want to stay in the very centre of the centre, it will be loud (especially on the weekend). The window has good doors, windows and curtains. I stayed alone and felt very safe. The apartment was bright, clean and cute with a stove, coffee machine, fridge, dishes, etc. There is a comfortable double bed upstairs and a small crib. There is a single bed and small table and kitchen downstairs. The shower is new and the water pressure it strong. The water pump turns on often but that is expected on an island with water tanks. It is a subsol but it did not smell bad. I should mention that there are small spiral stairs to the double bed so this apartment is not access friendly.

There were signs of moisture damage (painting peeling) on all the walls, most likely from being the subsol but it did not smell mouldy. One thing that for my culture is VERY corrupt is that after I arrived, I was told to pay an extra 8 euros tax. I am ok with paying a tourist tax but it should be included in the price or mentioned on Bookings. I paid it even though it was a very corrupt way to collect the tax in my opinion. I would not stay here again simply because they hid this until after I was checking in. If they had not done this, I would stay again with pleasure.

The owner accused me of entering my son's age as "0" instead of his actual age of 10, resulting in a demand for an extra 80 EUR payment in cash. Despite providing evidence of entering the correct age via a screenshot from my Booking mobile app, Booking.com support did not assist and left me to deal directly with the owner. Consequently, I had to withdraw 80 EUR from the nearest ATM, incurring a 10% commission. The owner threatened to cancel my booking without compensation if I didn't pay the extra amount, which I consider to be extortion. This experience has led me to decide not to book with this owner again, and I am hesitant to use Booking.com in the future. Furthermore, the apartment only provided two plastic plates, one of which was disposable. Given the cost of the rental, it would have been reasonable to expect 2-3 durable plates instead.

I barely did like something, there are a lot of negative points to say. 15min from center. You need to walk trough creepy streets to get there.

The owner kept us waiting outside the house for 20minutes when we arrived at the house. He was saying that he had to sign up to the police or whatever. I mean we came from far away and then having waiting us is crazy. Inside of the house is not a house but more like a bunker. It is very cold and uncomfortable. You can’t sleep at night because it is very noisy ouside. I really regret staying here, thankfully we only used it for sleeping and no more. NOT RECOMMENDED
