City Centre Former Coach House

The flat was so nice! It was really modern and came stocked with lots of toiletries. It was really spacious for a large group, really clean, I would absolutely stay here again!

The entrance to the flat has a strange entrance in an alleyway, but other than that, the flat was perfect.

Amazing location, central to everything we needed. Spotless inside.

The good bits.... The location is wonderful - a short walk to all the sights, really convenient for shops, restaurants, bars and public transport. The flat itself is stunning. Really well laid out, we particularly liked sinks in the non-en suite bedrooms. Cleanliness- the flat was spotless. The en-suite room is amazing - the bed is HUGE and really comfy.

The bad bits... Communication with the host was poor. Pre-booking questions were unanswered. Post booking questions were ignored. The listing is mostly accurate. But the place is really hard to find, and there are no clear instructions (the door has no number or house name on it, the parking space is not clearly signed). And in terms of parking, there is only a single parking space available. Whilst this is amazing for Oxford, this isn't stated on the listing (simply says private parking may be arranged), and when we enquired about arranging parking for 3 cars, the communication was ignored until 2 days before our arrival. (On a side note, park and ride is brilliant in Oxford, and convenient for the flat). The noise! As others have stated, the noise from the taxi-rank and arcade under the property meant zero sleep for those of us in the front bedrooms (the en-suite bedroom isn't quite so badly affected). As customers for the taxi company queue up outside the flat there is also a lot of smoke (even if the windows are closed), with cigarette butts dropped outside the door and taxi customers trying to enter the flat late at night. The bunk beds in one of the rooms are a bit rickety. Would be absolutely fine for kids, but we were a group of adults, and thankful only 1 of us needed to use the bunk beds as we're not sure they would have survived 2 adults using them (we did ask about whether they were suitable before we booked, but got no response...see first comment about communication!)

The flat was very clean, comfortable and great facilities.The location in Oxford was great.

None of us got any sleep as the noise from the taxi rank outside was very very loud, including drunken racist abuse etc etc. I think that the high cost of the accommodation cannot be justified when all the guests did not get any sleep until 5am. I am unable to wear earplugs provided, but that is not really the point as this should be explained before you book or the price should reflect it as the owners are fully aware that it is an issue.

It’s right above a taxi rank which was very active from around 11pm - 4:30am Friday and Saturday. Horrendous noise so very little sleep had!

The apartment is located in a great area in central Oxford. 15 minutes walk from the Oxford train station and 9 minutes walk from Oxford's central bus station. From the apartment, it's an easy walk to Oxford attractions (pretty much just across the street from Christchurch for example), restaurants, shops (4 minutes walk to Westgate Shopping Centre) etc. The apartment is beautifully appointed and well-fitted with anything one might need - great appliances, lovely decor, super comfy bedding. The bathrooms are modern and well-equipped (there's a special place in my heart for great bathrooms). It was a super comfortable stay. I highly recommend. The host was responsive when we asked for help with the temperature. He came by to check the radiators and remedied the issue. Heads up - it's easier to reach the host via WhatsApp than over the phone.

I noticed one previous guest mentioned the noise from the surroundings. There are 3 bedrooms and it seems like the one in the middle is the most impacted by the sounds. I slept in one of the others (close to the living room) which coincidentally did not have much noise filtering through (either by placement/location, or perhaps I'm just a deep sleeper?). The living room as well seemed pretty insulated (I was there till about 2 am on a Friday night and didn't hear anything besides the TV show I was watching). Either way, I noticed the host has put in earplugs in the bedrooms in response to the previous review, but I didn't need them. Noises most prominent during the Friday/Saturday period (as indicated by my mum who slept in one of the rooms that did get the noise).

The accommodation was beautifully decorated and furnished. Good size living space and bedrooms with 2 separate bathrooms.

Sadly the property is directly over a city centre taxi rank and slot machine arcade and it was VERY noisy all through the night. We stayed on a busy weekend and all three bedrooms were disturbed by the staff and customers of the taxi rank and the music of the slot machines several times through the night from around 2:30-6am on both nights. The walls are paper thin and the windows pretty useless at keeping any noise out. Sadly this disruption totally undid the positives of the apartment because sleep deprived people aren’t the happiest. GOOD QUALITY EARPLUGS ARE A MUST!!!
