The Clyde Hotel

Nice, clean room. Comfortable bed. One of the few places to stay near Te Urewera where we wanted to hike. Easy walk to eating establishments right there in Wairoa town. It was a nice experience. We had what seemed to be one of two hotel rooms. Staff handled all with ease. Checkin was different, and went well.

The lady that met us was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean.

The decor is very tired. I understand the style period is intentional but it needs a paint job and some nice bed linen as that had definitely seen better days. Just charge a bit more to cover the cost of this. Kept getting a noise on and off all night which disturbed our sleep. It sounded like a refrigerator or some other motor going on and off. It seemed to be coming through the vents in the bathroom so probably coming from the chinese next door. We could not get the tv to work at all by pressing all the obvious buttons. Got a picture but nothing would play. Some instructions for this would be helpful.

The location was awesome! Located in the center of town, clean room, very comfy bed. Owner was really accommodating since I arrived so late. Great communication throughout.

Back packers stay in the back half. Scary club in the rear of the building. Outside of the building could use some care.
