Ski Pad Methven

The location was perfect for what we needed the house for - NOT skiing

Never left a negative review before but based on what we paid for the 2 nights we were there ($700+) we were disappointed with this place. Damp washing in the lounge on a drying rack on arrival, squeaking doors, broken linen cupboard door which meant you couldn't shut the bathroom door, toilet seat wouldn't stay up for the blokes, towel rail coming off the wall & not enough rail to hang the towels of everybody staying. Daughters bed had dried leaves & dirt on it when we arrived (possibly from open window), the front door jams/sticks, the beanbags were filthy & again - given that we paid quite a lot for the place, I didn't expect to have to chop kindling for the next guest!!!!

Cosy wee home close to town. Two heating sources- log fire and electric heating. Lovely wooden ceilings in the living space. Small outdoor deck is great when the sun shines. Three comfortable double beds. Dryer in the laundry. Large refrigerator with freezer, and dishwasher.

There was wet linen drying on the drying rack when we arrived. There was no kindling available to start the fire when we arrived on a cold winters day. Some maintenance is needed especially the linen cupboard with the door handle completely coming off when opened. There is not enough in the kitchen for families cooking during their stay (only large 1 knife, that requires sharpening, and more trays for roasting in the oven would be ideal. There is not enough seating for a group of 6 (only 1 x 3 seater sofa). There was a beanbag available but it was covered in wood chips (presumably from being used outside). The bedrooms are very small with some of the beds pushed right to the wall to make room in them. But they were adequate for our stay.
