Kibale Eco-Home

Lovely accommodation with a quiet garden and seating area. A lively Weaver bird population in the tree in the garden fascinated us. Bruce and Samantha have created a lovely stay for guests. Hot hot water and great shower. Wifi good. Off the main road but close to a gift shop and a small cafe where we had a good lunch. Near the swamp and five minutes from the Chimpanzee Trekking start. Check it out - I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Vanaf deze homestay is het 10 minuten rijden over een goede asfaltweg naar de ingang van Kibale National Park (waar de chimpanzeetours zijn). Heel prettig als je daar 's morgens vroeg moet zijn. De homestay zit 50 meter vanaf de hoofdweg (sla af bij het grote huis - er staat ook een bordje). Vanaf de homestay kun je lopend naar het Bigodi Swamp. De rondleiding is absoluut de moeite waard (wij zagen vijf soorten apen en diverse vogels). Je kunt deze tour ook combineren met een bezoek aan het dorp, waarmee je de lokale bevolking meteen ook steunt. De kamer van de homestay is compact, maar met smaak ingericht. Het eten is eenvoudig en desgevraagd kun je een lunch meekrijgen voor onderweg (heel handig). De eigenaresse is heel aardig! Je kunt op haar veranda ongestoord op een brede bank zitten en gebruik maken van wifi. Ook zijn er twee grote tafels om eventueel een spelletje te spelen.

Wij hadden wat pech, omdat er de hele nacht door een bruiloft aan de gang was. Tja, dat is ook 'couleur locale'...

Très bien sur toute la ligne, les hôtes Samantha et Bruce sont charmants et ont été très bienveillants, c'est très propre.

Alles war wundervoll. Samantha und Bruce sind tolle Gastgeber. Wir haben zwei Nächte unserer Flitterwochen dort verbracht. Unser Zimmer war romantisch geschmückt. Sogar unser Tisch zum Essen im Allgemeinen Bereich war mit Blumen dekoriert. Man muss nur beachten, dass die Zahlung bar vor Ort erfolgt. Es war alles super sauber.

Wir waren für 2 Nächte im Kibale Eco-Home. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber sauber. Warmwasser funktioniert hervorragend. Bruce & Samantha sind äußerst gastfreundlich. Das Essen, auf der tollen Terrasse, umgeben von Vögeln, wird frisch und liebevoll zubereitet. Das Zentrum ist fussläufig erreichbar und dennoch ist die Unterkunft sehr ruhig gelegen. Auch die Anlaufstelle zum Schimpansentrekking ist sehr nah. Danke für den tollen Aufenthalt

Bruce and Samantha, who run the homestay, are incredibly friendly and genuinely service-oriented. Together with their family, they create a very warm and welcoming atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. This is a true eco homestay, and you can clearly feel the sustainability mindset in every detail. Bruce, with his background in environmental science, puts a lot of care into living and sharing these values. The entire place is well maintained, and the rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. What made the stay really special were the personal interactions. They take time for meaningful conversations and give you a real insight into their family life and the local community. You don’t feel like a guest – you feel included. The food was delicious and prepared with a lot of love. I also had the chance to roast my own coffee with Samantha at a nearby place, which was a unique and memorable experience. Through this, I learned a lot about eco-farming, sustainability, and the strong community spirit in the area. Overall, I felt very well taken care of and truly welcomed. I can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and meaningful stay.

We had a lovely stay at Kibale eco-home! We were welcomed into the family of Bruce and Samantha, the owners. The meals were really good, the room was very new, clean and comfortable. Bruce, Samantha and the other staff made our stay very memorable as they were so friendly and welcoming. They were keen to hear our experience so they can improve. The gate to Kibale NP for the chimpanzee tracking/habituation is less than 10 min away (by car). We would definitely recommend staying here.

A relaxing haven a stones throw away from Bigodi wetlands. We were made to feel very welcome by Bruce and his family. Whenever we needed any help - suggestions on activities, booking guides etc there was always someone available to help, but otherwise we were left to our own devices which we really appreciated. Bruce also helped us to book our Chimpanzee trekking permits ahead of our trip which was a massive help. The home cooked food Sabina served was all delicious and lovingly prepared. Our rooms were nicely furnished and very clean, beds comfortable, hot water and mosquito nets. The secure parking was also really handy as we were self driving
