Tonia's Cottage

The property was very cosy, well built and super clean. Tonia was very friendly and caring, whereas we found a box of local pastry and raki waiting to welcome us :). The location is about 25min from Heraklion and the house is next to a beautiful small village ‘plateia’ with refreshing drinking water!

L'atenció per part de la propietària ha estat excel·lent, la casa disposava d'absolutament tot: des d'estris de cuina, a assecadors i pastilles per a la roba. Les instal·lacions es veien netes i cuidades, i es podia apreciar el temps implicat en l'obra. Estem molt contents de l'estada i la recomanariem al màxim.

This spot is a real gem! We’ve been to Crete few times, but this was our first time being away from popular tourists areas and we loved it!. We visited local wineries and spent our evenings just resting at the cottage with the cats wandering about and the nice locals always glad to say hello to us. My wife loves yoga, and we discovered many great spots around the village with beautiful mountain views. The cottage feels so cozy, you can tell it was thoughtfully designed and furnished and has everything you need for your stay. Arkalochori village has all needed shops and conveniences.Tonia welcomed us with warm smile and real care. We will surely come back. Thanks for a great time, Tonia!

Because of the cottage location, we rented a car, and honestly, it was the perfect way to experience the island. We got to see mountains, plateaus and drive alongside the Cretan and Libyan sea. We followed Tonia’s website blog posts recommendation and discovered local villages, Myrtia and Archanes were our favourites. The locals were so nice they invited us for coffee, raki and even took us on a little tour around the village! We love hiking and birdwatching and we were mindblown of the beauty of Asterusia mountains! Tonia is a kind and happy person, and we liked hearing her advice about the island. If you’re searching for something c͏alm and away from the main road this cottage is great.
