Cantinho do Sol

We were very satisfied, it's a great place to stay for a week with a group!

During my vacation, I wanted to stay in a more local environment rather than in the city center, where it's noisy and crowded. This accommodation offers exactly that – a countryside part of the island, where you have peace and quiet, a great location, and nearby hiking trails. In short, a very sensible choice for a relaxing getaway. Also very close to beach.

Disconnect from the internet and embrace the countryside.

The house was very cozy, clean, and spacious. Comfortable beds. Great to be able to park in the courtyard. Nice seating outside, though we never used the grill. The washing machine worked very well. The kitchen is well equipped. Close to the beach, the local store (unfortunately not well stocked), and the center of town with ample restaurants. I would definitely stay again. Mosteiros is a great base for exploring western Sao Miguel.

The living room was very dark - only one small window to the street. I would recommend putting in skylights. Otherwise perfect.

We had the 3 bedroom house to ourselves. We prepared most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen (we also had good meals out and our fave was at restaurant Ilheu). There is a nice garden out back; we used it only to hang our clothes to dry. The wifi allowed us to stream videos and movies without problem. We loved Mosteiros itself and having it as a base to explore the West of the island.

No complaints!

After already staying in a few different guest houses in Mosteiros, this was one of the better ones. Doesn't look big from the outside, but has a huge living room, large kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a large garden area, including BBQ area. Everything was clean and relatively modern, and the kitchen had every necessary equipment. It is located in a small and relatively quiet side road, and just 5 minutes by foot away from the beach and a nice grocery store. Some restaurants are also nearby, but I did not visit them. You can hear the waves, and sometimes the neighbors talking, but it's usually very quiet. Sometimes a few cats from the neighborhood and a tiny black dog may show up and kindly ask for food and pets. As far as I could tell, the cats are very friendly and cute, especially the white/black/red one, and will leave you alone if you choose to ignore them. But the dog is a bit hyped-up and has not very good manners, and I would not recommend to feed him. The host Ana was also always very nice and helpful.

There wasn't much to dislike. I tried the beds in 2 of the bedrooms, and some may find them a bit too hard, but I didn't mind. One bed was also a bit creaky.

Charming apartments in the charming village of Mosteiros. Close to the beach to enjoy the sunsets. With a parking place in the yard. Very nice outdoor barbecue spot. The home additive is a beautiful cat that considers these apartments its own and at the first opportunity will enter the house (through the door or through the open windows).

The property was very clean and in a very good condition. It’s a house with a beautiful well maintained backyard, ideal for families and great for outdoor dinning. Cantinho do Sol has all what’s required for an extended stay. The communication with Ana was effective and easy. Mosteiros is a small village with very nice and welcoming people. Sunset in Mosteiros is very special.
