Omni The Pillar Boutique Hotel

First time I felt I couldn’t compliment a reservation. I really did not want to stay here after I arrived, the comfort of the place doesn’t match the pictures. Once you get in, you quickly realise it’s the most odd place to stay.

Bed was terribly uncomfortable, springs were worn out, you’d find your waist sinking into the bed. The actual bed dressing smelt like old body odour , as if they haven’t been washed or haven’t been cleaned in a long time. Now door to the shower, I get it , some showers don need doors, but this one definitely did, the entire bathroom area would be flooded with water , and you have to tip toe around. Very uncomfortable. There was no soap to wash my hands for over an hour, despite me telling the front desk politely, 3x, the front desk said they were waiting for me to leave so they could put everything in. Why wasn’t it done before my arrival, what’s the point of check in times. And why wasn’t it done after i politely reminded them 3x. No kettle initially, couldn’t boil water to make tea or coffee, One bottle of water on arrival. That’s it. It’s a very weird place, the bedroom curtain doesn’t close all the way, so if someone desires they could see clear from outside all the way to the shower that has no door. I would not recommend this place even if I was paid lol. Very weird place.

Everything about it was nice. The staff was friendly and thoughtful.

The location was quiet. The pool area was pleasant.

We had booked 3 nights and on arrival, were shown our first room, but with no shower. We asked for a different room with a shower. The room was not clean, there were pieces of glass on the floor and dirt under the desk. There were no bedside tables, only 1 very bright overhead light. No milk/creamer or a kettle was provided but Le Creuset mugs were used! There was a percolator coffee machine (!) but no coffee! The bedding was clean however the mattress was very old and the springs were worn. There used to be a blind in the bathroom however none of the old hardware was removed. The pipe behind the toilet was leaking, all over the bathroom floor. The latches on the windows were broken. The young chef tried hard but breakfast really wasn't good. Not even fresh coffee, only instant. There was not enough parking. Having a noisy party on the lawn with no regard for in-house guests is not good practise. This is most certainly not a boutique hotel. We got back to the hotel late afternoon on our second day to relax. With all the noise and music in the garden, we decided to leave and find alternative accommodation. We would not recommend this property to anyone.

Rooms advertised weren't the same as the one allocated at the hotel.
