Cosy Cumbrian cottage for your country escape

Comfortable place to stay in. Nice and tidy, easy to access.

As the title says this was cosy and had everything we needed as a base when visiting family in the area. We had a great time in the quirky cafe-bar up the road and a lovely meal in a nearby pub. The enclosed rear garden was really handy as we had our dog with us.

This is the perfect cottage to explore the Dales and Cumbria! It is comfortable, cosy, quiet, and really well furnished with everything you could need. The outdoor space is an added bonus, although in the evenings we couldn't tear ourselves away from the log fire inside to use the firepit outside! When we arrived the fire was pre made and ready to go which was a nice touch. A hamper of goodies waiting in the kitchen with tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate and marmalade also nice touches. The beds are so comfortable, we slept amazingly. It's perfect for kids too, a lovely spare room and kids books and colouring books and crayons provided. There is a really decent local shop just over the road. Honestly can't rate this place high enough, it was a home away from home for a long weekend and we loved it. It’s so pretty! And being such an old building means no creaking floorboards or noises from other rooms.

Working the tv was slightly frustrating. Would not have minded usually but the family wanted to watch the sport/Olympics. it was rectified, though, and everyone was happy. Smaller bedroom was a bit of a squash for 2 adults but easibly manageable for a few nights. bit of a musty smell.

Great location with parking. Nice sitting room with cosy log burner. Well equipped kitchen. Roomy main bedroom.
