"Not worth the money"

2.0

I like the trees and wild birds

The roads there was nowhere to get food or to eat the steps to the kitchen was too deep there was no rails to hold onto there was no completely coffee or fruits to welcome you no TV to watch the roads was difficult so I couldn't get down the hill I stayed 1 night left the next day I wasn't offered any of my money back it was just not what I thought it would be. I just cannot recommend to anyone.

"Nice property but you really need a suitable vehicle to access the property"

7.0

The location itself was great: we had originally booked three nights and I would love to have stayed and explored the area as clearly it had great wildlife potential—but make sure you read why we didn't stay longer. Even with one night we heard American Barn Owl and saw Jamaican Owl both post-dusk and pre-dawn about 200 m back along the entrance road, and a Crested Quail-dove just after dawn on the entrance road about 100 m from the main road turnoff.

I had chosen this property because the location shown on Booking.com indicated it was adjacent to the main Blue Mountains B1 road. This is very misleading indeed. In fact the property is located after turning off the B1 just past the Bubbles Bar and descending very steeply on an extremely rough road to the south. You ignore the first turn to the right and take the second one. The actual location is 18.061508, -76.71110 and it took us about 20 minutes to get there from the B1. To be fair the host did text us the day before we were due to stay to warn us a 4x4 or high clearance regular car was needed to drive this road—but that was too late for us to change our hire vehicle or plans. The following morning, it took several attempts to get our conventional car back up some of the steeper parts of the access road. The road is so steep it's almost impossible to drop back to build up any speed or momentum to get you over the more difficult bits. Had it been wet (and it rains a lot in the mountains), I am quite sure we would not have made it in a conventional car. The nearest cafe to the property is back on the B1. With the benefit of hindsight, I would have hired a 4x4 and taken provisions for all our evening meals with us to cook in the well-equipped property kitchen: either that or based ourselves in Kingston and driven the 45 minutes or so to the Blue Mountains each day.

We had a great stay in this little house located in the middle of mountains. The place is peacefull. We enjoyed the view from the terrace and the confy beds. The neighboorhood is really kind and helping. The house is well located to explore blue mountains.
