The Retreat At The Lawrence Apartments

Excellent stay- clean, so quiet and comfortable. The location is great for access to the city of York- either by foot or by bus, there are great amenities in the neighbourhood. It is a busy street and parking can be tricky but we barely noticed the traffic. The beds were comfy, the shower was hot and powerful, the whole flat was immaculate. The responsiveness of the letting service was beyond my expectations (responding within minutes on New Year's Eve!).

Parking might be tricky-though we lucked out with a spot right next to the building on the side street for the duration of our stay. The handheld shower head was broken but I let them know and presume that it will be fixed.

Apartment was lovely, clean and spacious. Great location only a 15 mins walk into the centre and has lots of buses running past. Has everything you need and shops only across the road. I would definitely recommend to anyone and will be staying again :)

The property was very clean and equipped with everything you may need. Good information booklet with recommendations of restaurants and attractions in the area. The hosts gave clear instructions for entering the house and contact details if needed. The centre was only a 5 minute drive, so was easy to book taxis for a cheap price.

Only downside was that there was no parking on the property, however nearby parking was offered and it was clearly stated prior that there wouldn’t be any parking.

A couple of the kitchen items were a bit tatty. One thing we did notice was there were no mirrors in the bedrooms. Which, I know is minor, but when 4 girls are trying to get ready it’s a bit of a nightmare. Also, only a boiling water tap and no kettle. Again, minor but us girls like a proper kettle 🤭
