Haus Rether - Transylvanian Guesthouse

This is a great place to experience the authentic slow living. It's a really quiet place you can enjoy with family or just by yourself (I'd say it's a great play to unwind with a good book or for study focus). It's also nearby some of the greatest tourist attractions (Sighisoara, Viscri, Crit). We'll definitely come back!

First of all, I would like to point out that my husband and I are in love with this area and this was not our first visit in Haferland. And everytime we plan our holiday, we choose a different village, just to experiment the local vibe. Haus Rether exceeded our expectations. We loved the house and the inner courtyard, the fact that the rooms were clean and still looked as new. The bathroom of our room had a large window beside the shower area. This provided a lot of natural light. Simina, the host, was always very kind and helpful. Although we arrived during Haferland Week, with no meal reservations made ahead, she offered to find us a place to eat. She prepared breakfast for us every day and although it was plentiful and with good products (some of them acquired from local farmers, indeed), I would suggest to use only products provided by the locals. This is something that I look forward to everytime we are in the area and I am sure I am not the only one :). It would definitely enhance the overall experience of a holiday at the countryside.

Great mix of traditional look and modern facilities. Placed in a great location which could be used as a starting point for cycling/hiking trips. Visiting the fortified church nearby is a must.

There is no place where you can eat in the village, closest thing is 10 min away by car Interaction with staff was minimal, only at then end we were asked if we needed something else, things for sure can be improved in this area

A quaint, well appointed property, combining modern with traditional, new with old. Very comfortable, quiet, a veritable "slow living Transylvania" example. Very close to Viscri, Sighișoara,so lots of sightseeing within short distance. Simina was very welcoming, helpful, easy going and personal. All in all, a little gem. We are looking forward to coming back. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
