Hostdomus - Lagrange Luxury Apartment

Spacious, recently renovated, well-equipped apartment in central location.

Complicated additional conditions, including a guarantee payment, which came as a surprise after the Booking.com confirmation and prepayment. Booking.com should warn in advance about additional payments and conditions that become known only after a non-refundable payment has been made.

We were in flat called 'Lagrange Family' (more flats are owned by Hostdomus). The location is very good, near the train station and within the city centre. It was perfect for our stay. The flat is really big: it has two double rooms (one of which has a connected bathroom), a huge living room with a sofa bed, another sofa, and a big table, a small terrace, a kitchen, and another bathroom. We also found it very clean. The building is nice, probably recently renovated, and there is a large elevator. The woman with which I communicated on Whatsapp, Tiziana, has been extremely kind and always answered very fast to every question I would ask on the chat.

The procedure of booking one of their flats involves using their website, and is a bit 'clumsy'. I had to double check the prices with Booking, and it turned out that on Booking I had payed a higher fee for the cleaning. I pointed it out to Tiziana, and the exceeding sum was accounted back on the card that had been used to pay. They have been very fair, but if I hadn't checked, we would have paid an incorrect amount. When we arrived, it was really hot. I communicated with Tiziana, who sent me some instructions on how to use the air conditioning. Even by following the instruction video, we couldn't manage to make it work properly. After spending a quite hot night, I understood from Tiziana that we were still in the period in which the flat was heated (end of the 'winter', but it was early April and the weather outside was more than 20°). We thus turned it off, and the following night was a bit better, but we still did not manage to have fresh air. The living room was very quiet (thus the person sleeping on the sofa bed had no trouble), but the other two rooms are near a big street with a lot of traffic and thus very noisy. Not recommended if someone is sensitive to noise during the night. The kitchen was really poorly equipped. There was a coffe machine for pods, and they wrote us that they would have provided the pods. We were 5 people staying for 2 nights, thus we would have expected 10 pods for two breakfasts, but there were only 8 of them, forcing us to buy a pack in a nearby supermarket. There were no kitchen towels, no water kettle, no microwave, no paper napkins, no bigger cups than small coffee ones for espresso. On the document that we signed electronically, it was written that in order to be given back the deposit (that is 300€, not included in the sum paid on booking), we didn't have to leave any trash in the flat. However, there was no information on where to throw it away, so we just threw it in bins on the street.

The location was perfect for getting around the city by foot to all the sites. It was a good location for travelling by bus further afield and by train. The facilities were clean and spacious. The host communicated well so that we arrived stress free.
