CASA UCCELLINI with a Romantic Terrace

This self-catering apartment is tucked away near the city walls, but on the other side of the city from the train station. It does not take long to walk there. It is near a quarter that is quite lively, but the street on which it is, is itself lovely and quiet. Easy to get to everything else. There is a music school behind, and sitting on the terrace, you hear the sounds of the students practising, which was lovely. The terrace is a huge asset, as was the air con in the heat this year. The rooms were pleasant and quite spacious. Everything was well-maintained in the apartment.

The people who are employed by the management company are nice, but there was a constant deluge of messages trying to get us to log on to their own booking site, even after we walked to their offices to register, giving them our passport details etc, which was very wearing. The messages were automated, so no apparent way to stop them and I suspect that we would have had to have filled in their online forms, giving a lot of personal information, to avoid it. The booking was already made through Booking.com, so we couldn't see why this was necessary. The apartment is on the top floor, and the stairs are quite steep, so not really suitable for anyone with mobility issues. When we visited, there were working stair lights up to the floor below, but not on the last stretch of stairs.

Located inside the walls of Lucca, this beautifully decorated apartment comes with all mod cons needed, very comfortable beds, working wifi, Air con in all rooms. The terrace is stunning, sits among the trees with views of rooftops and church with a bell tower..happily sit all day here! Very peaceful & quiet area at night so no problems sleeping. Perfect location & Lucca train station only a 20 minute walk away so very easy to travel to Pisa/Florence etc for day trips. Really enjoyed our Lucca stay.

Entrance area to building very unsightly & main door lock needs to be looked at as not only us but other residents of the building found difficulty opening it. Mosquitoes, so make sure to buy some citronella candles when sitting out on the terrace. As Casa Uccellini is in a very VERY quiet residential block, be mindful of this day & night ..The neighbour 'will' kindly let you know if they're not happy.
