Clarence street Luxury city centre Apartment close to Minster

A nice apartment close to the main attractions of York. Fixtures and fittings are new and of a high standard. I wouldn’t class this apartment as a luxury property.

No soft lighting in the lounge area. No drawers and wardrobes so we were unable to unpack, we lived out of our suitcases. No dressing table or mirrors in the bedrooms, there was nowhere to sit down to dry and straighten your hair and trust me that’s very tricky when there are 3 females trying to get ready at the same time. We had to take turns to get ready in the bathrooms with very bright lighting! My room was on the front of the property and the road noise was very loud, the windows are secondary glazed, but it was still noisy, including constant sirens, the flat is near to the local hospital. There is also a constant noise and smell from the very large extractor fan at the back of the property coming from the pizza place below. It doesn’t power down till after midnight when it closes!

Great base for our family of four. Easy access using a key safe. Home is newly refurbished so everything in great condition. Central location (walk to everything) and on quite a busy road but well insulated and very quiet at night. Really liked having 2 bathrooms. Great showers and comfortable beds.

Would have appreciated more in the way of kitchen equipment (eg a cafetiere, chopping board) but we were only there 2 nights so not the end of the world. The parking next door is quite expensive but we found a £5 per day place a few mins north (at LSE Tool Hire, opposite the Clarence Street co-op) or Jaipur Spice is £5.50 per day.
