"A great, cozy place for a relaxing family ski trip"

10.0

We stayed at this home for 3 nights and 4 days during our ski trip to Mount Snow, and it was a wonderful experience. The drive to the ski resort took about 20 minutes, which made getting to and from the mountain very easy and stress-free. The house is tucked away in a quiet, wooded area and surrounded by snow, giving it a peaceful and secluded feel. Even though the temperature outside was below freezing, the inside of the house was warm and very comfortable. The gas fireplace was especially lovely and made our evenings cozy and relaxing after a full day of skiing. The space was just right for our family of two adults and two children. The rooms and kitchen were extremely clean, and cooking meals was very easy and enjoyable. All the dishes, cookware, and kitchen utensils we needed were provided, so we never felt like anything was missing. The owner was very kind and helpful, and communication was smooth throughout our stay. We also appreciated the keypad entry system, which made check-in and check-out simple and straightforward. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay for a ski trip. We truly enjoyed the quiet winter atmosphere and the comfort of the home, and we would absolutely love to stay here again if we return to Mount Snow.

Magical Vermont Retreat From the moment I arrived, I felt the magic. Starting with the cottage, it offers so much more than a comfy, cozy place to rest your head. The passive-solar design fills every room with beautiful natural light, and the timber-frame architecture adds a timeless, inviting charm. Every detail inside reflects exceptional care and thoughtful design. A fully equipped kitchen makes preparing meals simple, and the bedding invites deep, restful sleep while you drift off to the distant sound of flowing water. Stepping outside, the magic deepens. The private brook sings all day, with its pristine, cascading waterfalls, each spilling into its own crystal-clear plunge pool framed by a mossy forest backdrop - a truly ethereal, enchanting setting where dragonflies dance in dappled sunlight and time seems to slow. As twilight falls and the forest sings with evening life, the starlit sky, free from light pollution, reveals itself in breathtaking clarity above the deck. The cottage and property alone would make for a perfect stay, yet what truly completes the experience is the human touch of the hosts behind it. I had the privilege of meeting Gene and learning more about his deep and abiding passion for the land, a passion matched by his warmth, kindness, and generous hospitality. In ways both practical and personal, he offered thoughtful guidance and a level of genuine care that left an indelible impression. Having stayed at many short-term rentals over the years, this has been the most magical, memorable, and truly extraordinary stay I have ever experienced. I am truly grateful for this unforgettable retreat.

"Fantastic place, beautifully appointed, a real oasis."

10.0

The cabin is situated in the Green Mountains in a clearing in the trees giving the feeling of isolation although there are other properties nearby. It is beautifully designed with an open plan kitchen/living space and double bedroom downstairs as well as another double bedroom in the loft space. It is bright and very well appointed with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom (on the ground floor) with plenty of hot water and towels for the shower and the kitchen is very thoughtfully equipped with plenty of cooking pots, bowls and utensils, coffee maker, full stove and microwave. We loved that Gene and Mary had left the makings for pancakes and maple syrup for our breakfast. There is a deck with table and chairs where you can sit and watch the birds in the woods. Just at the end of the driveway there is a small waterfall and pool in the river where you can have a dip on a hot day. The cabin is locked by means of a digital keypad which means no worries about keys. We received detailed directions on how to reach the property from Gene who also gave us tips on where to shop on our way in and local places to visit. We had a really relaxing few days here and would definitely recommend the Magical Retreat Cottage.

We had a great stay at this cozy and newly built cabin. It stayed warm despite the cold winter weather and it was well equipped for cooking and relaxing. It’s close to Mt. Snow and has beautiful surroundings. There was a lot of snow at the time so we’ll have to return in the summer to see the brook and enjoy the forest around.

"Lovely Secluded Home in the Green Mountains"

10.0

This little home in the woods was a really nice get away. The house is very new and cozy. Lots of natural lighting that keeps the house nice and comfy. Great kitchen with all the amenities and lots of seating, nice dining table and seats at the counter. Comfy couch and chair are good for sitting around the gas fireplace at night to relax. Beds were very comfy as well. Property was very private and secluded, nicely placed in the woods and right next to lovely creek that you can take a dip in if you so desire. I think during the less snowy months there are likely a number of hiking trails in the area too! The couple that rents the place seem very nice and accommodating. All in all a great stay and a relaxing spot to throw your feet up. Great for a trip to Mt. Snow or to just get some much needed R&R in a cozy secluded house in the woods. :)

Wasn't an issue for me but would advise the use of an AWD vehicle with reasonable ground clearance. The last bit of the road can be a bit muddy when the weather is a little rainy or from snow melt. Absolutely worth the ride back to this secluded spot though!
