River Road, Littlehampton, Executive Apartment

The accommodation is very well appointed and homely. The shower room is smart with a powerful shower. The kitchen is a cook’s paradise and I enjoyed using it; professional cooking utensils. We only used the basement bedroom with a very comfortable super king bed. Great nights sleep. The flat is a short walking distance to the centre of the town. We did all our shopping by foot. Enjoying walks along the Arun river and the sea. Most relaxing break. We did have a delicious meal (fresh plaice and sea bass) at the RIVER ARUN INN, pub situated at the entrance of river road. The staff is very friendly and we would highly recommend it.

The parking was an issue. River road is a one way street with not many places to park, so it is really first come first serve. Booking.com description should be updated to “street parking first come first serve”. According to the description on booking.com: “The fireplace is a top feature of the apartment” and also “Living room: dining area, sofa, fireplace etc. ”, we were looking forward to a nice fire in the stove. However, when inquiring about the supply of wood (sending a text to owner) we were told “We do not permit guests to use it, sorry”. That was quite a disappointment and it should have been explicitly said on the booking.com’s description! The first evening we were feeling the cold in the room, we tried to change the settings which was NOT possible so we sent an another text mentioning that we were sitting wearing layers and using 2 blankets (provided) to keep warm. We were told that “the heating thermostat was set at 19 degrees which is the default but that they had now turned the temperature up for us and adjusted the schedule”. All that was done remotely! A bit spooky if you ask me. To enter the house we were instructed to “use the rear gate and self check in” and find the gate which was down a narrow lane off a one way road. Once you open the gate you have in front of you some stairs going sideways with no railings. That can be tricky when carrying something. We did not just travel with 2 suitcases so we had a lot to unload. We managed to park the car at the end of the narrow lane and luckily enough no car came. The check in location might not be a problem when travelling light but it was cumbersome for us. We only used the rear gate from then on; never used the front door which could have been easier for check in where a key box could be mounted to the wall? Just a suggestion. The house has the ground floor flat which we occupied and a first floor flat above.

Beautifully designed comfortable high-end property interior.Everything you could need and more. Excellent beds and linens.

Basement bedroom is a little claustrophobic, little natural light/ air.( really beautiful though.)

Excellent equipments and close to seafront

Low ceilings in several places. I banged my head a few times Parking was a lottery and wasted time Downstairs bedroom s.elled of damp

It was clean, and the kitchen was very well equipped. There was plenty of space in the lounge for dining, and relaxing in front of the TV. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a delight.

We only had a couple of minor issues: 1) the remote for the TV set top box was unreliable, but we could operate it from the buttons on the box. 2) the central heating thermostat had a tendency to reset itself to 14 or 7C but the flat warmed up really quickly and stayed warm, so this didn’t spoil our stay.

Everything there is nothing to dislike about this property. It is so well maintained and equipped it’s unbelievable.

Everything about this apartment is fantastic. The quality of the fixtures and fittings, the well equipped and beautiful kitchen, the lovely shower (with great towels!), really comfortable beds with great pillows. It's within easy walking distance of several restaurants and the river Arun is a 2 minute stroll.

The property had everything you could need. Was very comfortable clean and the location was good.

Really lovely property, very smartly decorated, well stocked and thoughtful touches inc milk & bread etc for my arrival. Super comfy bed and great shower and a lovely environment to relax in (I was staying away for work so nice to have a great place to unwind in at the end of the day) Mike was very helpful and clear with lots of information before my stay as well.

The only thing - and no fault at all from the property - is the parking which is on the street only, and it's a one way street at part of it, so if you miss a space you need to go all the way back round again! Although it was busy, I did always find a space somewhere, but it usually took a couple of circuits!
