Pearl's Homestay Matale

Chilled out place with very pleasant owners who are nice to talk to. Location is nice and has a gorgeous view too, easy place to go on a walk from. Clean and modern tiling in bathroom + bedroom. Breakfast was solid.

Mosquito vaporizer or soffell could have been nice but its really not a big deal considering what you get for the price

I had a very pleasant stay at this homestay. The place was neat and clean, and everything was well maintained. The service was very good and the hosts were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a comfortable place to stay. ⭐ Highly recommended

However, the bathroom sink was damaged and needs to be replaced.

Pearl and her husband were wonderful hosts. I enjoyed the great views complementary cups of tea and chats whilst sitting on the balcony . I Would highly recommend their guest house.

Matale is een onontdekte parel. En de host van deze homestay helpt je die te ontdekken. Heeft veel kennis van de natuur en omgeving. En is gewoon ontzettend aardig. Veel te doen en de natuur is prachtig. Vergeet alle Spice gardens. In de tuin en het dorpje vind je alle kruiden van SL. Ongerept en authentiek. De gastheer kan hikes regelen, maar ook een relaxte wandeling. Taxi naar tempels, andere plaatsen of transfer volgende verblijf ook. Goed ontbijt. Fijne kamer. Kortom: als je het echte SL wil leren kennen vanuit een comfortabel verblijf dan is dit een aanrader

Niks. Houd er rekening mee dat je tijdig bedenkt of overlegd wat en waar je wilt eten. Mogelijk brengt Pizza hut uitkomst.

A hidden little place with nice balcony to stay and reconnect with nature. The lovely couple who owns the place are so kind and helpful, and we enjoyed very tasty breakfasts every morning — especially eating on the balcony surrounded by greenery. 🥰 They even arranged a tuk tuk for us to visit Riverston at a good price, making our trip even more special.

Pearls was an excellent find! I was on my way from Sigirya into knuckles by motorbike and it had been raining so I needed to stop to consider my route. Matale doesn't have much in the way for foreign tourists but it is extremely central to many attractions. The owners are super nice and have great english abilities. I had a few lovely chats. The room is very clean and has everything I needed. The bathroom is large and clean. The garden is very beautiful. Wifi works well and there is a covered for my motorbike. I would definitely stay again.

Everything was perfect!

Pearl and her husband made us instantly welcome in their lovely home in the hills overlooking Matale. We wish we could have stayed longer! We really enjoyed chatting to Pearl about the history of Matale and her school experiences growing up there. She cooked us a delicious evening meal and breakfast. And we enjoyed an evening walk up into the forest above the house. Thank you!
