ALAROOTS BORA BORA CAMP

Location is great. Basic but services the purpose. Sound of the ocean makes you sleep like a log.

Absolutely incredible beach and island. I do consider myself being comfortable person and not really looking for the camps normally but this was an incredible place and experience plus the camp is located truly in the best place in Bora Bora. My expectation were really low but eventually I was simply excited. I had a large room which was super nice, camp itself was clean, tents and other rooms looked also very well. Wifi connection better than in many main island airbnb, electricity only in the evening - enjoyed all day offline, surrounded by nice nature, people and having a chance to go to main island every day if wanted. Truly recomend you to come there!!!

As written in description - this s a camp, not a luxorius hotel. Everything was just as described. If I could ask for one thing to change it would be the bed´s matrace.

beautiful place, funny owner, Tapu showed us how to make crown with palm leaves, barbeque was also great.. it is a meeting point of really nice people.. and the most stunning sunsets are top 💜

despite he owns it only three months, there are some things to improve, little by little.. and it is not on main island, which might have pros and cons

This place is great, and Tapu is a fantastic host! It's important to know that this place will not be for everyone! Your vibe and your willingness to interact and share experiences with others is make or break, so if that's not for you, then neither is A La Roots! Be chill, be cool, don't worry, and bring plenty of cold beer!

Staying there on Motu and enjoying pure nature.

Lovely campsite at the back of the motu. The beach was a two minute walk away, on the lagoon side, with fantastic views of the main island if you wade out a little. A generator provides electricity in the evenings and mornings and there’s wifi all day. The kitchen is well equipped and there’s a hot shower available in the evenings. The transfers to the motu were also seamless.

The hostel is located at the most amazing and peaceful location with a gorgeous view over the main island. If you’re looking for a relaxing and chilled stay to escape the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy the basic needs and reflect on what is necessary in life or not, that’s the place for you. Tapu is the most kind and funny host you can ask for. He does everything to make you feel at home the moment you jump on his boat. I loved waking up every morning, watching the sun rise over the mountains of Bora and drinking my coffee listening to the sound of the waves and nothing else. I enjoyed spending my time with the people at the hostel, the vibe was very chilled and relaxed and we had a lovely group of people staying who I became friends with. Tapu spent a lot of time with us talking, laughing, joking around and teaching us about the Polynesia culture with cultural activities (I still think my headband out of coconut leaves was the best 😋). He even took me and another guest on a little boat adventure on my last day. You have a shuttle going to the main island everyday, you can go hiking, snorkeling, and explore during the day and come back to your peaceful motu in the evening, such a great combo! You’re sharing the same beach as the most luxurious hotels in Bora. And although you’re not staying at any of them (why would you when you can experience the real Bora Bora?), you will definitely feel richer - in experience and memories! To sum up, I had so much fun!!!! Thank you Tapu for everything. I can’t wait to come back!

Everything! The location is an absolute dream. On top, Tapu is just the most welcoming host who made me feel like a friend and just honestly wants everyone to have the best time. I just arrived at another ‘hostel’ in bora bora and I feel sad I had already booked it. No comparison to the private motu you get at ALAROOTS. Expect the full ‘remote island’ experience. Even though it’s basic, the shower and toilets are made with so much love and I felt comfortable everywhere! Probably the best stay of my entire French Polynesia trip and not sure something can top it!

If you enjoy camping and are not looking for luxuries, this is the place for you! From the moment you arrive the place is simply amazing, only reserved for big hotels if you were not in this option. Definitely worth spending a few days relaxing and enjoying the beach and nature in Alaroots. We stayed in a bungalow overlooking the sea, quite private, clean, with a comfortable bed and enough space to enjoy and rest, we loved it! You have kayaks available to go out and explore, refrigerator, the staff is friendly and the directions are quite adequate from the moment you arrive. It has the service to drop you off at the ferry at 7am at an excellent price, which is very much appreciated. I would go back in a heartbeat!
