Solar Branco Eco Estate

Es difícil decir que es lo que más nos ha gustado. Es hotel tiene un encanto increíble, todo el personal incluida Caroline que es la dueña, son muy amables y están siempre dispuestos a ayudarte. Las camas son increíblemente cómodas , el lugar está a 5 minutos del centro y del aeropuerto en coche . La GIN LIBRARY es genial. A nosotros no nos gustaban los gin tonics , pero nos dieron a probar diferentes y acabamos comprando dos ginebras de las que hacen ellos. El momento GIN es especial . Para mi la estancia ha sido unica.

Beautiful, bright, and spacious suite with a very comfortable bed! Caroline and Ali are wonderful hosts and their staff are all such warm and kind people. Breakfasts are truly amazing!! The Gin Library is such a fun place with yummy gin and tonics. Do not hesitate to book a stay here, we will definitely be back!

El desayuno local, delicioso y preparado con cariño. Las vistas, la limpieza, lo bonito y nuevo que estaba todo. Lo cómoda que era la cama y las almohadas. Los gin tonics. La amabilidad de todas las personas que nos cruzamos allí.

A bit pricy

This was one of the best properties we’ve stayed in. The fact that there are no children under 16 allowed on site is paradise if you are neurodivergent or just enjoy a more calm environment, and the cats are great therapy. The staff are really friendly and the location, building and facilities are superb. It’s been built with love and it shows.

The shower pressure could be a little stronger, and maybe a more varied breakfast menu would benefit, but these tiny points don’t spoil this wonderful place.

Everyone at the Solar Branco Estate was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and personable. We loved every part of our stay, from the fresh and authentic breakfasts each morning to the friendly kittens running around the estate. We even received an extensive guide upon booking that helped us plan out our entire trip with all the best restaurants and tips on how to navigate the best of the island. Our favorite parts were waking up to the beautiful view of the hills and cows each morning and getting to know other guests over a beverage at the Gin Library.

'Gin o'clock' is a VERY classy thing to do at a hotel...! That felt like something from the 'Golden Age' of travel, whenever that was... and was an utterly peaceful way to pause during the evening. Katarina (sp?) and Ricardo (?) were amazing as well, treating us as locals...being conversational beyond the paying guest/tourist banter. Thank you! My family is from Sao Miguel and I've visited several times; while isolated from the 'hotspots' on the island, it offered a unique vantage point for this repeat visitor. Nothing seemed 'too far.' The rooms are new, clean and sparse, bordering on minimal. The owners took time to engage personally with my wife and I; It's clear that they're working hard at refining the experience they present. I think this hotel will grow, expand & evolve in its own special way. I'll be keeping an eye on it....

Is it fair or worthwhile saying anything that I don't like, when it's been written up in big-time glossy mags around the world? Who am I? The rendering on the website had me thinking I'd have access to far more of the grounds than I did. Much was 'off-limits' for one reason or another - terraces, orange grove, aviary, etc ... I would like to have seen more 'Eco.' Bikes are very eco...! But there are none available....😞Electric car chargers are for a different sort of eco traveler, I think... Breakfast, as noted by others, was repetitive and minimal ...

Die Gastgeber sind freundlich und bieten leckeres Frühstück an, es ist aber noch ausbaufähig hat jedoch leckere Regionale Produckte, Die Gin Sammlung / Bar, ist einladend, Wir haben diese jedoch nur zweimal besucht.

Schade ist es dass es keine tägliche Küche gibt, dies ist auch eigentlich unsere Bemängelung.
