"Stunning place to stay!"

We had a wonderful stay at Kyostay Hotel. The location was absolutely perfect so central to everything we needed. There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and having the beautiful To-ji Temple just across the road was such a lovely touch. Kyoto Station was only about a 12-minute walk away, and a shopping mall was just a short 5-minute stroll down the street, making it incredibly convenient for food and shopping. The staff were truly beautiful, warm, and welcoming, and our room was perfect clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Only thing I didn’t like were the pillows from the futon bed, they were too hard.

We really liked the authentic Japanese style with the Tatami mats and futon beds! The staff was very nice and accommodating, and the location was easy to reach from Kyoto railway station (directly opposite the magnificent Toji Temple). Would definitely stay there again!

The amenities were a bit dated, and the stairs to the second floor are quite steep (there's no elevator). We didn't really mind though and still had a great time!

"Small cosy hotel"

A small cosy hotel, with helpful staff. Room was spacious and had lots of appliances, including dryer in the shower (something I have never seen elsewhere, maybe it is Japanese speciality :) Small cafe right next to entrance, although it seems to work only in the morning.

Refrigerator in the room was noisy, had to switch it off for the night.
