Waru Homestay Gili Gede

Irwan is a nice and friendly host. The snorkeling tours with him were really nice - we would really recommend to do them with him.

The homestay itself is unfortunately really disappointing. The beds are really uncomfortable. No hot water for shower. Generally its simply not nice at all. You can decide if you want to be waken up by roosters or goats. The smell in the neighborhood is really bad and there is so much trash everywhere.

Le logement est globalement en mauvais état: porte de wc cassée, fenêtres condamnées, peinture des murs qui cloque et tombe au sol... Tres forte odeur d'égouts dans la douche/WC Très forte odeur d'humidité dans la chambre avec climatiseur. Aucune fenêtre ne peut s'ouvrir donc on ne peut pas aérer le logement sauf à laisser la porte d'entrée grande ouverte Nous n'avons pas pu utiliser la deuxième chambre sans climatisation car la chaleur est étouffante et les fenêtres ne peuvent pas s'ouvrir.

It is basic so don’t expect luxury. One bed was just a mattress on the floor.

This stay was the best one of my trip in Indonesia. Not only the house is well located and good maintained but the host Irwan was the best company. He took me snorkelling, we saw many sea animals and different islands. Also, we fished and ate it in the night together. The people of the island are very friendly and I felt 100% safe as a solo female traveller. I will come back <3
