The apartment opens directly onto a narrow alley, which felt unsafe, especially after dark. The surrounding area is rather run-down, and we didn’t feel completely secure. The front door is very difficult to open – it took several attempts each time. Also, using the oven repeatedly tripped the circuit breaker, which was quite inconvenient. While the location is central, the overall experience did not meet our expectations.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be a terrible experience. The apartment felt more like a basement, with its entrance directly from a smelly side alley making it dark and unwelcoming. From the moment we stepped in, there was a strong, unpleasant smell of humidity, which only got worse over time. Upon closer inspection, we noticed fungus growing on the walls – a clear sign of poor maintenance and excessive dampness. The cleanliness was shocking: dirty floors, spider webs on the walls, and even someone else's hair in the shower. It was obvious that proper cleaning hadn’t been done before our arrival. To make matters worse, we found two empty air fresheners, which no one had bothered to replace—clearly an attempt to mask the persistent bad odor. The kitchen was equally disappointing. The kettle had a thick layer of calcium at the bottom, making it unusable. To make matters worse, the electrical installation was old and faulty – we experienced two power outages during our stay, which was both inconvenient and concerning for safety reasons. We informed a property staff member about the dirty floors, hoping for a resolution. She told us she would speak with the cleaning lady and ask her to improve, but nothing was actually done. As a result, we had no choice but to stay in a dirty place for the entire duration of our stay, which was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. Overall, this apartment was a huge letdown. Between the bad smell, lack of cleanliness, mold issues, and unreliable electricity, I cannot recommend this place to anyone as it does not meet basic hospitality standards.

It is cute looking and very close to the train station. Also the staff, she was very friendly and tried to help us with everything

The humidity, there is a bad smell. They provide air purifier and air conditioner. But still it was so strong and it is also unhealthy. Also the apartment is really stacked i don’t recommend it if you have a lot of baggage.

The position was the only thing to save.

Excessive humidity w,hich caused stink, the napkins were wet, the heating did not function, the wi-fi did not function, no additional blanket was provided.

Very central location well done out pleasant stay

No coffee machine couch was a bit uncomfortable

Good price & good location in the small streets of historic Genoa. Very friendly host. It is a ground floor apartment so there is some noise from the street, but nothing that keeps you awake at night.
