The hotel is in a very calm and nice area of Port Barton, just 2 mins from the beach. The structure is clean and well organised. The room was definitely bigger and nicer than we expected.

"Has potential to be great but so many things to improve"

6.0

Nice room, huge bathroom. comfortable bed. Tea and coffee on offer.

This place has so much potential to have received a 9-10 rating but the staff just cant be bothered to make it that little bit nicer. There are a few breakfast options: - toast with jam - omelette with toast - scrambled egg with toast - pancake - chocolate pancake 3 out of 5 breakfasts we had, they didn't have any toast. Well that eliminated over half of the breakfast options unless you just want a very small portion of 2 eggs... not much of a breakfast. The pancake was amazing but they have no fruit to go with it, we had to bring our own bananas. Another morning, we ordered our breakfast 20 minutes before breakfast was supposed to end, to be told the chef has gone home and we can have some toast... I only wanted an omeltte and they have plenty of staff there that im sure can cook a very simple omlette. This was resolved but i had to offer to cook it myself for the staff to decide that they will try and make it for me. If this property was a really low budget accomidation, I would let these things slide, but it isnt for the philipines! Any shop is about a 5 min walk away, yet they don't sell any water at reception. When we arrived there was filtered water avaliable for 5 pesos for about 150ml, a 1L bottle cost around 30 peso to fill up (no cheaper than buying from a store so is doing nothing to reduce single use plastic). This is the first property we have been to where you have to pay for serviced water. On day 2, the water had ran out and they did not replace it, so simply if you wanted water you had to walk 5 mins to the nearest shop. Finally, they didnt clean or offer to clean our room until 5pm on our last night of a 5 night stay.... there isnt much point offering that late into the stay as we leave in the morning! These little things are so easily resolved if the staff just had a little more initiative and made a bit more of an effort. The rooms are so nice and well built but the staff really let this place down with their laziness.

"Good but too humid"

6.0

The hotel is away from dusty roads and traffic. It has a cute design with forest and sea themes. The rest/coffee area creates a happy eco community’s atmosphere. Our rooms had spacious bathrooms with big bath tabs, basically mini swimming pools. The staff was friendly and helpful. The territory and path to it lit up well in the dark time. The boat tour from the hotel was great.

The long path to the hotel from the road is not paved. It has some tiles to keep your feet out of mud, but they are not wide enough to roll the baggage through, so you have to carry it. It is much more humid in the hotel area than in the village. Towels and swimwear do not dry outside. Burning smell from the neighborhood stays long in the air. Local internet does not work in all rooms. Phone reception was only outside. Breakfast is good but not outstanding as described, only a choice of pancake or eggs + toast. The territory is small. Rooms are dark. The bathroom in one of our two rooms was smoked up. Old smoke smell was coming from the walls and other surfaces, so it couldn’t be simply fixed with cleaning, as the staff thought. So that room was changed upon our request for another one with a smaller, normal-sized bathroom because of limited availability in a small hotel. It was fine with us.

"Nice place to stay!"

Wifi and electricity worked well and consistently, which is important because I stayed in other places where these services didn't work.

Everything was great! The houses were very nice and clean, the bathrooms were very cool and interesting. The staff was extremely nice and helpful with everything, always with a smile. They arranged transport for us with a van to El Nido, which we had trouble doing ourselves. If you want the full experience of being surrounded by nature this is your to go place! Thank you!!
