"Ideal location"

8.0

The property is a lovely cottage with an ideal location in the seaside village of Beadnell. Fantastic beaches within walking distance, and close to small village store and pub. Cottage very clean, with huge comfy settee, tv with plenty of channels etc. We only had a short stay (3 nights), and to be fair we were only in the place at night, as out all day. Great location to explore the coast which is spectacular.

I can only mirror what has already been said on the previous reviews. The range in the kitchen is basically the water boiler and cannot be used by guests. There are other cooking options, a two ring induction plate, air-fryer, slow cooker, "George Forman" type grill and microwave. However these, along with kettle, toaster etc take up most of available space on worktops. Every cupboard and drawer is chock full of stuff and feels overly cluttered, and other than the fridge, there is very little space to store any provisions. Front door lock is awkward to use as mentioned in previous reviews, keys needs wriggling about to lock/unlock the door. Unable to open window in main bedroom.

"Ideal “home away from home” for a get-away to explore the Northumbrian coastline."

10.0

Good communications with owner after booking; easy access on arrival; close to beach and local amenities (wonderful pub with delicious local food); very well equipped kitchen with different cooking facilities; cosy living rooms as well as sitting area outside at front and back.

There isn’t anything I didn’t like about the property.

"Over all a comfortable and peaceful stay and ideally situated."

7.0

Perfectly situated just a few hundred yards from the beach and the local amenities, including the shop and pubs. Quiet and safe neighbourhood in beautiful Beadnell. The house was clean throughout with plenty of spare bedding and towels. We used the larger of the two bedrooms and the bed was extremely comfortable. There is plenty of storage space for clothes. The shower has a choice of two heads, including a large Victorian-style one, with plenty of hot water. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of crockery and cutlery (we found 11 whisks!), the fridge is roomy, and there are washing and ironing facilities, and extra fridge/freezer storage, in the garage. The living room is large with comfortable sofas and entertainment (we didn't watch the TV, but we used the radio). The dining room and conservatory are also a good size and comfortable. There is a patio area to the back and a private parking space to the front in the driveway.

The bedroom window lock was broken in both bedrooms, so the windows were impossible to open, making it very stuffy at night. Instead of curtains there are vertical blinds at the bedroom windows, meaning the light is never properly blocked out at night, no matter how "closed" they are. The heating system is powered by a Stanley stove, which cannot be adjusted, making the kitchen too hot. Also, the Stanley stove cannot be used as a cooker, leaving just a separate hot plate and microwave, which is not ideal. The coffee pod machine was missing a component and wouldn't work. The front door lock is tricky to use.

Excellent location, plenty of hot water, massive sette 😁, terribly comfortable beds, quiet. Yes it was valve for money 💰

Constructive feedback: 1,Front door key was difficult to open & close with .( if there been an incident during the night it be difficult to get out quickly. 2, Not knowing untill we arrived we had no proper cooker& oven to cook with . 4, Plug socket appeared overload at entrance socket. 5, Dinning Plates etc & kitchen utensils maybe someone should double check they are usable before agreeing house is read for next guests.

"Excellent accommodation in a lovely quiet area with a beautiful beach a few minutes away."

10.0

Self-catering. Everything that one could need was catered for. Immaculate and it has to be one of the most comfortable beds we've slept in and best night's sleep for a long time.

Took a bit of time to be able to get the hot plate to work and unfortunately could only use one side, but made use of microwave.

"Pleasant venue, excellent location with wonderful sightseeing and good beaches."

6.0

Excellent location within walking distance from village and only short drive to beach. Easy access to main roads for visiting nearby sights.

Poor ventilation in some rooms (couldn't open windows), inability to turn off heating (in summer!), over-stocked kitchen with poor quality utensils (no decent large knives for meals), cluttered shelving - needs a good clear out and overhaul.

"Larger than expected but disappointed with outdoor area."

8.0

Well decorated, spotlessly clean accommodation. Nice shower room. Bungalow was larger than expected. Close to village shop with a couple of nice cafes, friendly pub with indoor/outdoor eating areas...Craster Arms. Access through garage was useful as my husband uses a mobility scooter.

Kitchen cupboards were overflowing with so much stuff it was difficult to find anything. The paved garden area was potentially dangerous with a large step up and uneven paving stones.
