Casa dos Arcos - Studios & Pool

Excellent apartments just outside the tourist centre. The building is old and beautiful with a modern kitchen/lounge and a spacious bedroom. The owner also provided a surprise welcome hamper with local treats. The pool is of course a fantastic drawcard and there are two smallish and friendly dogs that wander around the garden. Finally, the owner has a list of local places to visit, both in Ponta Delgado and around the island. You feel exceptionally well taken care of.

A minor point would be to attend to the bathroom fittings. Some are very old and could be replaced. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Pilar is an amazing hostess who welcomed us at a late hour after our flight was delayed, with a gift basket of local niceties, a list of great places to visit and have dinner at, and the most amazing room. Her place is perfectly located in the middle of the city, easy to park at, absolutely gorgeous between the pool, the gardens and the decoration, and our bedroom was vast, extremely clean and comfortable, and we only regretted not being able to stay longer.

De kamer is in een mooie villa gelegen en was groot. Het zwembad en de ligstoelen ernaast hebben we ook gebruikt. We kregen een welkomstmandje met wat brood, kaas, noten, honing en water+wijn. Mooi ! De verhuurder bood aan om de middenste privéparking van hun te gebruiken als er geen plaats was in de straten nabij het huis.

Nagenoeg geen interactie met de verhuurder (enkel de eerste dag) of tenzij digitaal op verzoek. Het feit dat de aanwezige honden ons wakker hielden 's nachts door nét naast onze kamer voortdurend te blaffen en dat de verhuurder hier niet op ingreep, gaf ons een nalatige indruk. De honden schooien ook aan de tafel mocht je buiten voor je kamer eten. Je moet een houten schutting zetten om de honden uit je kamer te houden. De nachten erna was het geblaf minder maar vooral omdat ik dan kwaad naar de honden riep :-) .Het materiaal in de keuken was nét uitgemeten qua hoeveelheid. In het bericht naar ons werd gezegd dat er maandag-vrijdag dagelijks gekuist werd wat niet bleek te zijn. Parkeren van de auto is een opgave maar daar kan de verhuurder niet aan doen.

La partie sanitaire qui est mériterait un rafraîchissement.

We hebben genoten van dit prachtige appartement. Heel gezellig en comfortabel ingericht. Het appartement met gebruik van een ruim zwembad ligt op enkele meters van een heerlijke bakker en het centrum met vele restaurants is ongeveer 10 minuten lopen. Het appartement ligt super ten opzichte van de binnenstad en is toch heel erg rustig door de grote tuin. Pilar is werkelijk een fantastische gastvrouw met een hart van goud. Wij hadden op twee achtereenvolgende dagen een uitval van onze vlucht naar Madeira door de dichte mist op de airport van Ponta Delgada. In beide gevallen konden we terugkeren naar het appartement en bracht Pilar geen extra overnachtingskosten in rekening. Waar maak je dat nog mee? Als we terugkeren naar Sao Miguel, zouden we niet verder zoeken. Nogmaals hartelijk dank Pilar!!

Helemaal niets.

This was a gem of an apartment. Lovely to have so much outdoor space and a pool. It was immaculate on the inside and we were able to self-cater for most of our trip using the kitchen. Such a lovely welcome basket too!

Spacious, quiet neighborhood

There were some dogs left unattended and barking whole night. Pool is a decorative rather than usable with cleaning robot dropped inside all the time.

The Casa dos Arcos - Studios & Pool is a fabulous place to stay in Ponta Delgada. We stayed in the deluxe one bed apartment for 5 days and enjoyed every bit of it. Pilar is a great host and welcomed us with a tour of the place and some goodies like bread and biscuits and cake etc which is always appreciated after a long trip. Pilar was always available for any queries etc and very prompt in responding which is always appreciated. The room was very nice with a lot of space and lots of unique touches and antique furniture and features. The property is huge with a lovely pool (which we didnt use as it was still cold :)) and a large beautiful garden. Pilar also has 3 dogs who are absolutely wonderful company and are always welcoming you and ready to play with you .. The place is less than 10 minutes from the main square and marina which was very convienient for sightseeing and trips etc Overall really loved and stay and would happily stay again when in beautiful Azores.

Double glazing on bedroom windows would really help as the bedroom is close to the road on one side and there is some noise sometimes at night.
